INTER PIPELINEHeartland Petrochemical
Complex
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Expected Completion 2021
Inter Pipeline announced a final investment decision in 2018. Construction is now underway of their Heartland Petrochemical Complex, a world-scale integrated propane dehydrogenation
(PDH) and polypropylene (PP) plant.
CKPC Propylene & Polypropylene
Production Facility
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Expected Completion Mid-2023
Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Company announced in early 2019 a positive final investment decision to construct a 550,000 tonne per annum integrated propane
dehydrogenation plant and polypropylene upgrading facility.
NORTHWEST REDWATER PARTNERSHIPSturgeon Refinery
PHASE 1 Complete 2018
Project construction is complete and diesel began flowing in December 2017. Full start-up of operations is expected in early 2020.
WOLF MIDSTREAM & ENHANCE ENERGY
Alberta Carbon Trunk Line
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This pipeline will capture CO2 from Heartland facilities and transport it to central
and southern Alberta for secure storage and enhanced oil recovery projects. Initial C02 flow rates are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019.
PEMBINA PIPELINECanadian Diluent Hub
COMPLETE 2017
Construction commenced on this large-scale condensate and diluent terminal in May 2016 and completed in 2017.
PLAINS MIDSTREAMNGL Fractionation Expansion
COMPLETE 2017
This multi-phase project expands fractionation and storage capacity, and adds rail and truck loading.
TRANSCANADAGrand Rapids
Pipeline
COMPLETE 2017
Operations began 2017 connecting crude oil resources from the west Athabasca oil sands area to Strathcona County. The 460 km dual pipeline system consists of
36” pipeline to transport blended bitumen from northern Alberta to Edmonton and a 20” pipeline to transport diluent from Edmonton to Fort McMurray.
TRANSCANADATC Terminal
COMPLETE 2017 This project will provide tank storage of up to 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.
Several key industrial projects have recently been completed, are underway or are in the planning stage.
