Mike and Fern Olson, from Detroit Lakes, Minn. were guests of Steve and Pat Eide’s from Thursday to Sunday, for LaVern Ramberg’s funeral. On Saturday, they met Kaedyn for breakfast and then toured his college, The South Dakota School of Mines, in Rapid City. Everyone all went out to sup- per in honor of Kyle’s birthday. Mickey Donnelly went and watched Garrett Donnelly, Brayden Donnelly and Boedy Donnelly play there last foot- ball game in which both teams won! Vickie Wanzek wants to thank everyone for all the calls, text’s, Messenger messages, card’s during the difficult time of losing our Mom, Faith Mar- tinson and all the Staff at TMC for all the Great Care our Mom received during her illness and for all my Co-workers at LTC for always being available and allowing me be at my Mom’s bedside through all this. Erie, 54, Stanley, passed away Thursday, Octo- ber 8, 2020, at Mountrail Medi- cal Center, Stanley. A family and close friends service was held Monday, Oc- tober 12, 2020, at Springan Stevenson Funeral Home Cha- pel, Stanley. Graveside service took place Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Cottonwood Lake Cemetery, Powers Lake. Pastor Sarah Sorenson officated. Darryl was born September 3, 1966, at Powers Lake Hospital to Arnold and Viola (Godejohn) Erie. He was raised and edu- cated in Powers Lake, where he graduated in 1984. He attended NDSSS, Wahpeton and gradu- ated with a degree in auto me- chanics in 1986. Darryl was united in marriage to Valerie Opdahl June 1992. To this marriage their son, Derrick, and their daughter, Payton, were born. Darryl worked vari- ous oilfield positions and most recently as a private consul- tant for Continental Resources. He and his brother, Larry, took over the family farm in 1986, where they continued to work together. In recent years Der- rick joined the farming opera- tion. Darryl lived life to the full- est. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, boating, snowmobil- ing, and spending time with all of his many friends and family. He was an avid Minnesota Viking and NASCAR fan and attended many sporting events. Most recently, Darryl and his signifi- cant other Gail were spending their winters in Arizona. Darryl will always be remembered for his gentle smile and impeccable dimples that could light up a room. With his friendly, outgo- ing personality he easily made friends where ever he went. Darryl was baptized and con- firmed into the Holy Cross Lu- theran Church, Powers Lake. Darryl’s absence will be felt immensely by all his family and friends and those who loved him most. Darryl is survived by son, Derrick (Shayla) Erie, Powers Lake; daughter, Payton Erie (Wyatt Goodman), Minot; signif- icant other, Gail Vachal, Stanley, His six siblings, Wayne (Cath- rine) Erie, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Bernard (Tony) Erie, Mound, Minnesota; Dorothy (Ken) Hayden South Beloit, Illinois; Arlene (Fred) Johnson, Stanley; LaDonna (Lauren) Roloff, Pow- ers Lake and Larry (Lauralee) Erie, Powers Lake. Numerous special nieces, nephews, cous- ins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Darryl is preceded in death by parents Arnold and Viola Erie, and nephew Trevor Erie. Local graduate from Bismarck State More than 580 students grad- uated from Bismarck State Col- lege after completing the Spring 2020 semester. The graduates were recognized at the college’s 80th commencement ceremony on May 15, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandem- ic, the BSC 2020 Commence- ment ceremony was held virtu- ally to confer 970-plus degrees. The BSC 2020 Commencement speaker was Miss America 2018 Cara Mund, a native of Bismarck, N.D. The virtual cer- emony is available to view on the BSC website. BSC students finished their Spring 2020 semester online after BSC and other college campuses across the state and country closed in March because of COVID-19. During the Summer 2020 semester, students in various technical programs returned to campus under heightened health and safety protocols to complete hands-on labs and coursework to meet the requirements for graduation.     Darryl is survived by son, Derrick (Shayla) Erie, Powers Lake; daughter, Payton Erie (Wyatt Goodman), Minot; signif-icant other, Gail Vachal, Stanley, His six siblings, Wayne (Cath-rine) Erie, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Bernard (Tony) Erie, Mound, Minnesota; Dorothy (Ken) Hayden South Beloit, Illinois; Arlene (Fred) Johnson, Stanley; LaDonna (Lauren) Roloff, Pow-ers Lake and Larry (Lauralee) Erie, Powers Lake. Numerous special nieces, nephews, cous-ins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

    Darryl is preceded in death by parents Arnold and Viola Erie, and nephew Trevor Erie.

    It Happened To . . .Local graduate from

    Bismarck State More than 580 students grad-

    uated from Bismarck State Col-lege after completing the Spring 2020 semester. The graduates were recognized at the college’s 80th commencement ceremony on May 15, 2020.

    Due to the COVID-19 pandem-ic, the BSC 2020 Commence-ment ceremony was held virtu-ally to confer 970-plus degrees. The BSC 2020 Commencement

    speaker was Miss America 2018 Cara Mund, a native of Bismarck, N.D. The virtual cer-emony is available to view on the BSC website.

    BSC students finished their Spring 2020 semester online after BSC and other college campuses across the state and country closed in March because of COVID-19. During the Summer 2020 semester, students in various technical programs returned to campus under heightened health and

    safety protocols to complete hands-on labs and coursework to meet the requirements for graduation.

    Area graduates include:Bailey Branesky, Tioga, with

    an Associate in Applied Science degree in Petroleum Production Technology

    Matthew Heupel, Tioga, with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Energy Management

    Tyler Larson, Tioga, with a Certificate in Petroleum Pro-duction Technology.
