The formula of Kiwanis is to Love It, Share It, Live It. Simple concept, complex execution. But if we break it out, step by step, it is not only manageable but truly “do-able.”

A couple of weeks ago Al Dantico, Gloria Smith, Scott Whelpley and Nancy Passovoy represented the Mukilteo Kiwanis Club at the Region 2 one-day conference, which included Divisions 13, 17, 18, 20, 20M and 22 (Snohomish County’s 11 clubs). About 50 Kiwanians were in attendance including Gov. Jackie

McFarlin, Incoming Gover-nor Ron Myers, and Lt. Governor George Boulton.

The day’s events included presentations such as Membership Development, Having a Heart to Serve, Builders Club Presentation, and much more. As it is an election year, Division caucuses were also held.

One notable activity was a project where clubs assem-

bled, decorated, and hand-sewed a “Kiwanis Trauma Doll” for hospitalized children in the Pacific Northwest. All dolls are donated to youngsters in our area. (Al shows off the Mukilteo Trauma Doll).

As Al tells it, “we were told that club service is a way of life and as Kiwanis members we are called upon to lead a life of social excellence serving as professional, trained volunteers to help others in need, locally or globally. The Objects of Kiwanis at the top of our club agenda each week, guides us toward achieving these goals, together.”

she’s got so many AP classes!)

We are so proud of you, Tamia!

(thanks Scott Bayles for supporting her in

school)

Certificate presented by Paul Salas

Scott presented a $500 check to Lt. Governor George Boulton to

Anita Bernardi, Beth Kerwin, Dana Wilbur, Pam Taylor, Nancy Passovoy

and Darlene Conklé attended the Cocoon House Butterfly Graduation.

Lots of food and donated cash was collected at our recent Packs For Kids program. This allows schools in

the District to send home food in backpacks to families who need an additional boost to their food stock.

Thanks, Lynette, Joni, Nancy, Scott, Dana, Oran and Rachel for your hard work.

Last year we asked Kiwanians “what are 10 things we don’t know

about you?” and we learned a lot about our fellow members!

This year the question is “what is on your bucket list?”
