~ Life Reflections ~

Mary Velma Lee Ingram was born on December 4, 1945 to the late Louis and Mary Davis Ingram in Bentonia, Mississippi. “SIS” as she was known, was one of 12 siblings born to this union. Six siblings preceded her in death.

Sis received her early education at the Pleasant Grove #2 church school and completed her high studies at Gibbs High School.

At an early age “Sis” accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the New Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. In church she was a faithful member until her health begin to fail. Sis loved her church and the board of members.

Sis was a care giver and cook for many years. She loved gardening and preparing food for the winter. The deep freezer was always full.

Sis leaves fond memories two loves of her life: one son: Louis (Tina) Ingram of Bentonia, MS; one daughter: Cynthia Ingram of Bentonia, MS; a special and devoted friend: John Wilkerson; three grandchildren: NaTasha, Anthony and Ashley Ingram; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters: Dolly Berry, Annie Ree London, Joe Addie Thurman and Sherry (Roosevelt) Thornton; two brothers: Matthews (Carrie) Ingram and Herman Ingram ; a loving care giver and sister-in-law: Elviria Ingram; two special nieces: Yvonne Pelison and Carolyn Hicks; three special cousins: Rod Davis, Glossie Jones and Lebertha Davis; four god-children: Gregory Shaffer, Bridget Dogan, Carolyn Johnson and Charles Small; a special friend: Irene Burrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

~ Tributes~

To Our Sister If love would have kept you here, you would have never gone away. But God gave you a better home, where there is nothing but joy every day.

~ Love Your Siblings ~

God’s Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering, he knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone… For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

~ Your loving Grandchildren ~

The time we spent together meant the world to me,

Your laughter and precious smile as we grew up happily. I’m so grateful for the years we had and the closeness that we shared.

Your heart so kind and thoughtful, I always knew you truly cared. But more than just family, I’ve lost a very special friend.

~ Love Elvira ~

A Letter to Grandma Sis

Grandma Sis, we never wanted this day to come, even though we knew it would We are thankful for the time we spent even though it was short.

The memories you made for us will bring tears, smiles, and laughter, but most of all joy The last time we talked to you even in your weakest voice. We told you we loved you and

your last words were, I love y’all too. The hardest part wasn’t losing you, it was losing you it was learning to live without you. ~ Your Great Grandchildren ~

You Never Said I’m Leaving

You never said I’m leaving you never said goodbye You were gone before we knew it and only you can fill.

In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still In our hearts I hold a place that only you can fill.

It broke my heart to lose you but you didn’t go alone, As a part of me went with you the day God took you home.

~ Love John Baby ~

Mama, you were a precious gift from above, so much beauty, patience, grace and love. You touched our hearts in so many ways, your smile so bright even on the bad days.

Mama, the time we spent, it meant so much, we wish it was today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say, We know how much you loved us much as we love you,

And each time that we think of you, we’ll still be missing you. When tomorrow starts without you, we’ll try to understand,

That the angel came, called you by your name and took you by the hand. You didn’t want to go and leave us alone, you loved us so much, you held on tight,

‘Till all the strength was gone and you could no longer fight. So, you gave your hand to God and slowly drifted away,

Knowing that with our love, we will be together again someday. With Love

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that

day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” ~ II Timothy 4:7-8
