That is, the church is a place of prayer and coming closer to God. No Christian can be considered a Christian if they do not come to church. The church is a place of salvation for us. Its a pick-me-up for our spirits. The Church, especially the liturgy, is the closest resemblance that we have to heaven. Slide 5 SHOWING OUR LOVE FOR THE CHURCH How do we express our love to one another? Is it by making fun of others or saying things about them behind their backs? True love respects others, even if the other person is in the wrong. Christ, whom we love, gave us the church. So, if we want to express our love to God, we must respect Him by respecting His church. Slide 6 RESPECT THE CHURCH When Christ entered the temple, he saw a lot of people buying and selling. Christ became very angry, and drove out these people. He said, It is written My house is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves. The way we treat the church shows the way we treat God. We must ask ourselves: how do we treat the church? Slide 7 A LESSON FROM SAMUEL Unlike Elis sons, Samuel deeply loved the temple of God. Because God saw that Eli did not teach his sons respect for the temple, God punished both Eli and his sons. God gave Samuel the priesthood instead of Elis sons. Slide 8 RESPECTING GOD When you respect the church, God will respect you, as it is written, treat others the way you want to be treated. The Lord will give you what you need as long as you show respect for the church. Remember that showing respect for the church means that you respect God as well. Slide 9 HOW TO RESPECT THE CHURCH: THE ALTAR Whenever you enter the altar, you must first kneel. Never enter the altar with your shoes on. Women are allowed to enter the shrines that are beside the altar, provided that these shrines are not consecrated as altars. Boys: there should be little to no movement in the altar. Slide 10 Every person should act like God is in front of them. Do not run around the church. Stay next to one of your parents. Do not eat food or urban before mass ends. Do not talk to each other. Remember that God is watching! Girls: Always cover your head with a shawl. This is to follow the traditions mentioned in 1Corinthians 11.
