Louisville Photo Biennial 2015

September 25 - November 7, 2015

Message from

Paul Paletti, Director

Welcome to the Louisville

Photo Biennial 2015!

Started in 1999 by four East Market Street

galleries, the Louisville Photo Biennial has

grown today to encompass sixty-five venues

throughout Metro Louisville, southern

Indiana and central Kentucky. This amazing

cooperative effort between galleries,

museums, colleges, universities and other

cultural institutions celebrates the medium

of photography in all of its richness and

variety. The exhibits comprising this year’s

Photo Biennial includes works made with

some of the earliest photographic processes,

through the most advanced digital imagery.

We are also pleased to offer numerous

educational opportunities through artist’s

talks, gallery receptions, workshops, and

other public events.

We are also proud, this year, to be the host

city for the Midwest Regional Conference of

the Society for Photographic Education, and

for Rochester Institute of Technology’s 31st

Big Shot.

We hope that this catalog and calendar

will help guide you to the rich and varied

exhibits which the participating galleries

and institutions have mounted for your

enjoyment. Also, we hope that you will take

advantage of the events and educational

opportunities which are offered by the

Louisville Photo Biennial.
