Version 8.5.3 is available since October 2011 Language Packs are available since November 2011
- FP1 is announced for March 2012 but the deadline might slip Besides considerable performance enhancements version 8.5.3 brings new functions
for the client and server. In this presentation we are going to point out some of them.
Lotus Traveler 8.5.3 has also been released in October 2011- The current Lotus Traveler release is 8.5.3.2 - This Maintenance Release fixes mostly problems for the server and the Android
clients The embedded Sametime version is 8.5.1 ! The embedded Symphony version is 3

Lotus Notes 8.5.3 – Purge Interval Replication Control (PIRC)
This new replication option prevents older deletion stubs and document modifications from replicating back to an application.
This option is set per database and can be set in the Replication Options, via Admin Client or Console command

Periodically rebuild FT Indexes and not impact I/O on data directory Saves disk space on file system where applications are located You could use faster disks for .NSFs - e.g. RAID10 You could use slower disks for .FTs - e.g. RAID5

Lotus Domino 8.5.3 – Fixup Restoration Index
When a corrupted document is found and cannot be repaired, fixup will delete it with no deletion stub and clear the replication history. The next time this database is replicated, it will cause a full search of the database in order to restore the discarded document.
As fixup discards corrupted notes, it adds the UNID to a Restoration Index- Restoration Index is stored in the database (.NSF)- Replication History is no longer cleared- Next replication, in addition to notes that have changed since the last replication,
if any notes in the Restoration Index exist in the source database, they are replicated as well.
- Once a good copy of the note replicates in, it's removed from the Restoration Index
