On April 11, 2012, a task force led by a retired California Supreme Court Justice issued a report that
blamed the November 18, 2011 pepper-spraying of Occupy UC Davis protesters on the University of
California-Davis campus on poor planning, communication and decision-making at all levels of the
university administration. "We need to find a place where we can express ourselves and not have tofear police violence," protester Osha Karow told WCCO.

While Police Chief Tim Dolan said he believes none of the protesters was abused, he did call an
officer's actions slapping a camera out of the hands of a photojournalist "indefensible." But to
counteract charges of police brutality, the MPD released their own video of the Occupation on
YouTube, showing marchers ignoring police orders to clear streets. At least six were arrested.

CBS Station WCCO reports that on Saturday, April 7, Occupy Minnesota protesters sought to "re-
occupy" Nicollet Mall, but were met by police officers who arrested 12 people.
It particularly criticized Chancellor Linda Katehi, campus Police Chief Annette Spicuzza, and Lt. As
temperatures warm, members of the global protest movement have reasserted their commitment to
finding a permanent presence in the financial district following their eviction from Zuccotti Park last
November in a dramatic police raid.
