• BCAM is a Research Center constituted as a non-for-profit association
• Aligned with the Basque Science & Technology strategy.
• Collaborating with the University, Technology Centers and Corporations and the rest of the RDi agents.
• Founding members: Ikerbasque, the Goverment granted Basque Foundation for Science has been charged with the responsability of creation new capabilities and infrastructures for fostering research.
• Based on a core of highly qualified researchers, and an extended international network of excellence, BCAM aims to become an international center of reference in the field of Applied Mathematics.
• BCAM has been recognized as a Severo Ochoa
Research Center by the MINECO.

• Título: Optimización del proceso de soldadura en
la fabricación de cadenas offshore
• Investigador principal: Mikel Lezaun
• Facultad de Ciencia y Tecnología
• Resumen: Vicinay Cadenas S.A es líder mundial
en la producción de cadenas de fondeo para la
industria del offshore. La soldadura es clave en la
fabricación de una cadena. Este proyecto tiene
como objetivo conocer de qué manera influyen
los parámetros de fabricación de las máquinas de
soldadura en la aparición de inhomogeneidades.
Se trata de optimizar los procesos de fabricación
actuales y adquirir conocimiento que permita a la
empresa desarrollar nuevos productos más allá
de los diámetros fabricados hasta ahora.
