Excerpts of A Message from County Executive Marc Elrich February 25, 2021

Montgomery County COVID-19 Vaccination Update:

Where We Are Now as of 2/25/2021

More than 137,000 Montgomery County residents have received their first vaccine (13.1% of the county’s population); and more than 61,000 (5.8%) residents have received their 2nd doses. Currently, Montgomery County DHHS receives approximately 4500 vaccine doses weekly, and are prioritizing residents who are 75 and older (1B); the remainder of frontline health care workers; public safety employees and first responders.

The vaccination clinics are by appointment only.

Residents must not forward appointment scheduling to friends and family (they will not be vaccinated). The links are intended only for the direct recipient.

To get vaccinate at a county clinic:

Everyone must preregister for a vaccine. People in 1B and 1C can now register (65 and over) Preregistration information:

Preregistration is not an appointment-it places you in a queue to eventually get an appointment by priority group. When vaccines arrive, DHHS contact residents from the preregistration list and invites them to make an appointment.

Once preregistered, individuals will receive an invitation to make an appointment by email from DHHS. The invitation will come from: [email protected]

Residents are advised to monitor their email junk and/or spam folder; just in case information ends up there rather in their inbox.

Individuals who have received a first dose from a DHHS-sponsored clinic will receive an email approximately 4 to 7 days before their 2nd dose is due and will be invited to make an appointment for a 2nd vaccine. Maryland has multiple mass vaccination sites; for more information, and to register, go to Maryland’s Go Vax website. If individuals do not have the ability to register by internet, they can preregister via telephone. Those who are 75 and older without internet access can call the Preregistration Helpline at 240-777-2982 for assistance in preregistering. The helpline is open 7 days a week from 8am to 6pm. The line is for preregistration only. Answers to general questions about vaccinations and COVID-19 can be obtained by calling 240-777-1755, daily from 8am to 6pm. We encourage family, friends, and volunteers to assist others who may not understand the process of preregistering for the vaccines, or have access to internet services.
