A message To our members

GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE SENIOR REGENT’S

MESSAGE

The Moose Valued Veterans Program is well on its way! Moose veterans need to be self identified on

their Moose Membership record at www.Mooseintl.org/members or call 630.906.3658. Then once the member

pays the next membership renewal a specialized Valued Veteran card will be sent to them. It is also possible to

renew your dues early on line. In November, our Valued Veterans will be recognized during the annual Veterans

Day ceremony.

Once again our monthly birthday dinner was sold out. It is important to remember to get your tickets early

so you are not disappointed. And remember even the members whose birthday month it is need to get their

tickets early.

Fraternally yours,

Joe Zenkus, Administrator

Administrators Report

Another month gone and it was a busy

one too. The Memorial service, Saturday

Karaoke, Mother’s Day, Birthday dinner dance,

Roof Repair starting, Memorial Day BBQ, and

getting ready for the Lodge Picnic June 3rd at

Lake Minden.

Due to the roof work there will be some

parking restrictions so please bear with us.

If anyone would like to work on any of

our cook crews or form one of their own, Please

contact me or leave a note to me at the office

and I will contact you. More help is always

needed and appreciated.

My choice for Super Moose is Cecil

Davis, he and his wife work the kitchen crews,

sit as door persons, and help on Relay For Life

Functions. Thanks folks!

Till next month

Governor Gary Gildemeister

The new WOTM board has hit the ground running! On Sun-

day, May 7th, we participated in a beautiful memorial for our brothers and

co-workers who had passed away this past year. It was very touching and

our hearts went out to all of their loved ones that were in attendance.

Mark your calendars! June 3rd is our annual Moose picnic

at Lake Minden. There will be games, raffles, a BBQ, and even

Jell-O shots. It promises to be a ton of fun for everyone! Tara

needs cash and/or prizes donated for the raffles. We don’t want

the children to leave empty-handed. Sign-up sheets are located in

the Moose lodge lobby.

It’s time for spring cleaning! On June 10th we will be

having our yard sale, to be located in the Moose parking lot. We

need all of your gently-used items to help make this a success. If

you need help picking up items, please give us a call and we will

arrange it. Also, Marilyn Beam has graciously donated the use of

a 10 x 10 storage unit to keep the items until the day of the sale.

We will need volunteers to help sort, price, set up and take down.

Remember, all ladies in good standing are invited to at-

tend the WOTM business meetings the second and fourth

Tuesdays of each month. The meetings start promptly at 7 p.m.

(right after Taco Tuesday). Aside from the business end of it, we

have fun, prizes, and snacks!

Every Wednesday, the WOTM have pie sales in addition

to the dinner. We are always looking for homemade pies or cake

donations. Please let one of us know if you can contribute to the

sales.

I’d like to thank everyone who attended the WOTM Offi-

cers’ installation dinner. The food was great and the decorations

were lovely. I appreciate all who worked so hard to make it

happen.

It is very difficult for me to have to name only one

“Super Moosette” for the month. There are so many hard working

and dedicated women in this Chapter. The June “Super Moosette”

is Arlis Hedge. Arlis is always in the kitchen cooking up the next

big breakfast or dinner. She is non-stop from grocery shopping to

scrubbing the grills. I don’t think “no” is even in her vocabulary.

Thank you Arlis for all you do!

Keeping you informed...

THE MOOSE CALL

This Publications Purpose: The Moose organization no matter how complex it might appear is simply people working to-gether for a common cause: “One For All and All for One”. At Yuba City Lodge No. 1204 our pur-pose—enjoying brotherly love and fraternalism within our present membership while we broaden our defending circle with new broth-ers—is reflected in the accomplishments we complete and impression we give to our commu-nity. We are people serving people. The Moose Call is part of our shared effort. By presenting your Lodge’s goals, achievements and up-coming social gatherings, it will strive to inform you, enlighten you and assist you. By doing so, this publication will achieve its purpose.

If you know of something that needs to be in-cluded in this monthly publication, please e-mail us at [email protected] It is our goal to make this “your” newsletter. Thank you, MOOSE CALL STAFF

Willie Moose say’s… “Let’s take a moment to remember our

fellow members we lost 2016-2017”

The annual “Relay for Life” event was held the week-

end of May 6th thru 7th. Our lodge was the third highest fund-

raiser for the entire event and I was the top individual fund-

raiser, way to go team “Moose on the Loose”. We were able

to raise the required funds through the annual Chili Cook-Off

and via donations for the Moose to qualify us as a Gold Spon-

sor. This enabled us to have the Moose logo on the back of

the event T-shirt and placement in the event program. This

means everyone at the event who was qualified received a T-

shirt with our logo on it. How fabulous to have our name out

there supporting this powerful community event.

A special thanks go out to Tara and Doreen. Who

participated in the event by selling frozen bubbles, “instant

raffle ticket” and luminary bags To Chelene and Bob thanks

for setting up our camp sight and knocking it down very early

Sunday morning. You are the heart and soul of our team and I

am grateful to have you. Big HUGS go out to each of you.

Of course I would be remised not to acknowledge those of you

who offer our support year round by donating at birthday din-

ner, lighting a candle, purchasing a gingerbread cookie or a

flower pen or whatever little goodie I happen to have available

for a donation to our team. What about my bingo players who

support the candy fun, you rock!!

And lest I forget thank you to those of you that gener-

ously made you own donation to our team. I am so grateful to

be a part of this wonderful “Moose Family”.

Sewing and Craft Club Update

Fellow Moose members allow me to intro-

duce myself. My name is Sue Paulson and I have

been a WOTM and Chairman of the sewing and

craft club for about 2 years. If you are interested in

joining the club please call or email me. Also

please let me know what day of the week and what

time would be best for you to meet. If I get an inter-

est of 5 or more people, we will start meeting again.

The sewing and craft club consist of sewing/

quilting, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, latch

hook, painting and beading.

I look forward to your feedback. If you are

interested, please call me at 530-210-3676.

Thank you,

Sue Paulson ([email protected])

Our Next meeting will be on Monday, June 19th Perko’s Restaurant. All Higher Degree members are welcome to attend. We will once again be having the Academy of Friendship annual 4th of July Cake Walk and Patriotic Raffle. We are in need of volunteers to donate homemade or store bought cakes. Also don’t forget about your red, white and blue donation for our patriotic raffle. If you would like to make a donation contact Debbie Phillips.

Prizes Needed! Our annual lodge picnic is

Saturday, June 3rd

10:00am-4:00pm at Lake Minden

We would like to make every child, grand child

or great grandchild of a member smile by giving them a

gift at the picnic. Any bike, prize or cash donation will

be greatly appreciated. If you donate a bike please let

me know, I will post a sign on the bike recognizing the

person/couple the bike was donated from. Look for the

sign-up board in the Lobby or Social Quarters. You are

also welcomed to drop off your gift, bike or cash

donation in the LOOM’s office or give them to

Tara Croghan. If you have any questions for the chil-

dren’s raffle or would like to make a donation please

contact Tara Croghan at 632-1460.

Once again we are in need of your help for the

adult raffle at the picnic. We are looking for new prizes,

gift certificates or cash donations. Look for a sign-up

board in the lobby. Please bring in your item to the

LOOM Office or give it to Barbara Green. This raffle

helps fund our picnic. If you have any questions for the

adult raffle or would like to make a donation please

contact Barbara Green at 713-6423. We greatly

appreciate everyone that donates to this fun family

event. Your donations helps make our picnic a great

success!
