Event Agenda

Having generated over three-quarters of global economic growth in the last five years, many emerging and frontier markets are currently experiencing a slowdown. Yet, a few glitches and volatility notwithstanding, the growth in professionalization, liberalization and disposable income remains positive, making these economies attractive destinations for U.S. business and investments. Traditional state-and family-owned enterprises are attracting – or competing with – professional leaders. Institutional capacity is strengthening through support from supra-nationals, the private sector and governments. The environmental and social impacts of doing business, transparency and disclosure are under increasing scrutiny.

The 2012 Thomson Reuters Emerging Markets Investment and Compliance Forum will explore how companies already doing, or seeking to do, business in these countries can competitively and responsibly address specific challenges and risks in light of the current legal and regulatory landscape.
