1892: Otis elevator installed in Raj Bhavan, Kolkata.

1936: First Carrier air conditioner installed in India.

1960: Air India receives Boeing 707, powered by Pratt & Whitney JT3D engines.

Early 1990s: Sundstrand Electric Power Systems

is selected to supply main AC electric power generating system for Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) prototype being developed for the Indian military.

1993: Carrier Transicold begins operations in India with a large network of transport refrigeration service dealers and parts distribution.

1997: Goodrich begins operations with opening of Bengaluru facility for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft evacuation slides.

2000: Manufacture of evacuation slides begins at Bengaluru.

2012: Carrier and the Midea Group announce the establishment of Carrier Midea India Private Limited (CMI), a joint venture.

2013: Otis elevators and escalators are selected for the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. The 670 units are to be installed in 66 metro stations along the planned 70-kilometer, three-corridor system.

2014: Pratt & Whitney breaks ground on new customer training center in Hyderabad, where operators of V2500 and PurePower engines will receive instruction on the latest inspection and maintenance techniques.

2015: UTC Aerospace Systems India becomes one of the first Indian entities to export aviation products to the U.S. with its light-weight, four-person life raft.

2016: The PW1100G-JM engine begins powering flights in India on IndiGo and GoAir airlines.

Three of the four towers in the project will be served by 37 Otis elevators, including 18 SkyRise® elevators, with speeds of four meters per second. The project will also feature Otis’ CompassPlus™ destination dispatch technology.
