What is a Strategic Plan?

• A Strategic Plan is a short-range plan, usually for two years, which identifies the City's core mission and vision.

• The Strategic Plan also identifies council priorities, communication of the plan and accountability.

• The Strategic Plan provides a systematic process by which a community anticipates and plans for its future by setting goals and activities to reach a desired future.

• A Strategic Plan is an important step before Comprehensive Planning, Capital Improvement Planning and Annual Budgeting.
