Richard Blakeway
Deputy Mayor for Housing, Land and Property, GLA
Richard is responsible for overseeing the Mayor’s statutory housing powers. This includes the Mayor’s statutory housing strategy, £3 billion of investment and around 600 hectares of land, including the regeneration of London’s Royal Docks, following the transfer of functions and assets from the London Homes and Communities Agency and the London Development Agency to the GLA.
Julia Bray Policy Manager, TfL
Julia is a senior manager at Transport for London with over 20 years experience. She specialises in driving forward the continued development of transport to support growth in London, with a particular focus on east and south east London. She has worked for the TfL group since its inception in 2000 and before that at London Transport.

Cheryl Coppel Chief Executive, LB Havering
Cheryl began her role as Chief Executive of Havering Council in March 2007. Cheryl has an extensive background in local government having worked for two county councils, a unitary authority and two London Boroughs. She has been a local authority Chief Executive for 19 years. In particular, her work has focused on the management of change in local authorities to better serve local communities and a commitment to the promotion of social justice. She has considerable experience of developing and fostering multi agency partnerships and delivery of efficiencies and transformation.
Jonathan Falkingham
Co-Founder and Creative Director, Urban Splash
Jonathan founded Urban Splash in 1993 and has been the creative force behind big projects ranging from Fort Dunlop to his own award-winning house in Liverpool. Jonathan has day to day responsibility for creative strategy and design direction and continues to be highly committed to good architecture – amongst his other roles he acts as a trustee of the RIBA. Jonathan was awarded an MBE for services to architecture and urban regeneration in 2013, and in 2014 received an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University, in recognition of his services to entrepreneurship and regeneration.

Alex Lifschutz Director, Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands
Following a degree in sociology and psychology and research in cognitive psychology, Alex studied at the Architectural Association in London. He joined Foster Associates in 1977 and in 1986 formed Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands. Alex is interested in the ability of design to create buildings and cities that respond to change, and which are easily adapted by those who use them. He has developed construction and furniture systems that empower users to easily alter buildings both in the initial construction process and throughout their life.
Debbie Whitfield
Director, NLA
Debbie was part of the team that launched New London Architecture in 2005 and became Director in 2010. She has played a key role in establishing the centre as the focus for debate about the future planning of the capital over the last decade, developing its programme of exhibitions, events and research and establishing new initiatives including the New London Awards. She curated the West End hubs of LFA in 2008 and 2010 and has led on a number of temporary public realm interventions including The Skywalk by Carmody Groarke and a series of annual installations in the Crescent outside The Building Centre. She is Editorial Director of New London Quarterly and co-founder of the London Architecture Diary.
Alan Holland Business Unit Director of Greater London, SEGRO
Alan is the Business Unit Director for SEGRO’s Greater London portfolio. With a market value of over £2.4bn, it includes over 450 customers from sectors as diverse as aviation, retail and logistics and spans over 60 Greater London locations. Historically concentrated in Park Royal and Heathrow, the portfolio has recently expanded its urban logistics and light industrial footprint in North and East London. Alan is a Chartered Surveyor with over 17 years’ real estate experience in the industrial and logistics markets.
Cllr Darren Rodwell Leader of the Council, LB Barking & Dagenham
Darren was elected to the local council in 2010 and has been the lead member on a number of council committees including “Health & Adult Services Select Committee”, Public Accounts & Audit Select Committee and Safer & Stronger Community Select Committee as well as a school governor. Outside of the Council Darren works for DABD (UK) a local charity as a Welfare Rights Officer supporting the most vulnerable residents in the borough.
Sir Edward Lister Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor, Policy and Planning, GLA
Sir Edward Lister was appointed Chief of Staff and Deputy Mayor for Policy and Planning by the Mayor of London in May 2011. In this role he co-ordinates implementation of the Mayor’s priorities, strategy and policy work, and activities by the Mayoral Team. As the Mayor’s Chief of Staff he leads on GLA budgets and administration. In conjunction with the Head of Paid Service, he has direct responsibility for leading and overseeing operations in City Hall. Sir Edward advises the Mayor on strategic planning applications and has oversight of the London Plan and Community Infrastructure Levy. He delivers the Mayor’s jobs and growth agenda in this area.
