Habitat for Humanity

Heartland Ontario’s lat-

est London build on

Forbes Street is a

unique one. Habitat

has partnered with

Community L iving

London, a registered

charity dedicated to ad-

vocating for the inclu-

sion and citizenship of

people with develop-

mental disabilities, to

build two homes side

by side. Rather than

the “traditional” Habitat

family, this

partnership

supported by CLL, to

achieve their dreams of

living as independently

as they can. This

dream would not be a

reality without the gen-

erous support of Lon-

don Life.

London Life donated

$50,000 in support of

these two homes, and

is the House sponsor

for the build. During

the first week of March,

over 100 London Life

employees volunteered

on the build site.

These hard working

teams installed insula-

tion and vapour barrier,

f i n ished f ram ing ,

unloaded drywall, and

did a fair amount of

cleaning on-site. Snow

and mud did not keep

them from having fun

and working hard.

Many had volunteered

with Habitat in the past

and brought a variety of

skills to the job.

Our two partner builds with Community Living London are progressing

extremely well. We are now at the stage of insulating and dry-walling.

A special thanks to our February & March Team Days.

We are in the final stage of the home in Ingersoll for the Sweeney Family. The

Dedication Day is set for March 30th at 11:00am at 128 Bell St. A special

Music of Woodstock –Absent and Present

When you think of Woodstock you think of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin & Joe

Cocker, but what about the artists that were invited and didn’t show? Come

out to a great night where we capture the essence of all that went on at &

around Woodstock. Enjoy those who were present and also some of those

like The Doors, Joni Mitchell & The Byrds who missed one of the greatest

events in Rock ‘n Roll history. All shows are presented at the London Con-

vention Centre, doors opening at 7pm & concert at 8pm. Help us to build a

house of music! To get your individual tickets, subscriptions, VIP tables, or

more information on concert sponsorship, Please contact Allison Kampman
