Jennie MossManaging directorRethink Events Ltd

The past 12 months have seen significant activity in the water-tech space, including Xylem’s acquisition of Multirode, 3M’s investment into TaKadu, the orege IPo led by Climate Change Capital and the spin-off of Global Water Resources’s FATHoM business, with investment from XPV Capital.

What makes a good investment in the water-tech space, and what is it about these companies that attracted the interest of major investors? More importantly, once the deal is done, how can investors work with technology developers to accelerate the commercialisation and international market penetration of their solutions?

These are some of the questions that our expert panelists will explore over the next two days, as we look in depth at the markets for decentralised wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and data-driven solutions for water networks.

We’re delighted to welcome speakers from some of the fastest growth-markets for advanced water and wastewater solutions, including Brazil, Saudi Arabia and – new for this year – South Africa.

We would also like to thank our Key Partner, UK Trade & Investment, for bringing delegations from Libya, China and India. All of these companies are actively seeking international partners, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of our 1-1 meeting system to meet face to face with potential partners and explore the opportunities for cooperation.

You can also connect with our lead sponsors, Aqualogy and i20 Water, in our networking space, where you will find our exhibitors and our Charity Partner, FRAnK Water.

As part of the World Water-Tech community, we hope you will join us at one of our other upcoming events in 2014. We are delighted to be working with Singapore’s Public Utilities Board, the Environment and Water Industry Program office and BlueTech Research to host the TechXchange – a one-day summit focused on innovation and investment as part of Singapore International Water Week on June 1 2014.

We have also just confirmed the dates for the next World Water-Tech north America summit, which we are hosting in partnership with WaterTAP at Toronto’s fabulous MaRS Centre on november 12-14 2014.

As we develop our portfolio of events, please continue to share with us your thoughts, feedback and suggestions so that we can continue to create forums which deliver real business benefits to you and your company.

I wish you a fruitful and enjoyable summit.

Yours,

March 10 -12 2014
