edge. The brim is creted by picking up stitches round the bottom of the ht body nd is knit in the round. The

esiest wy to dd depth to this ht is simply to mke the ribbed brim longer.

Row 2 (RS): K 47, W&T

Row 3: P to end

Row 4: K2, M1, K to 9 sts before gp, W&T

Row 5: P to end

Repet lst 2 rows 5 more times 66 sts

Row 16: K 5, K next st with wrp, *K 7, K next st with

wrp, repet from * to 12 sts before end, [K2tog] 6 times

60 sts

Chnge to CC, repet rows 1-16

CONsTruCTION

Cut yrn leving long til for sem. Undo provisionl CO nd slip live sts onto empty needle. Beginning t

bottom edge of ht, use Kitchener stitch to sew up side sem. Then, weve til under every other st circling the

smll opening t the top of the ht twice nd pull tight to close hole. Weve in remining til on inside of ht.

BrIm

Using circulr needle nd MC pick up 90 sts evenly into the selvedge stitch edge long bottom of ht. Plce

mrker to indicte beginning of round.

Work 10 rounds in 1x1 ribbing (all rows: *K1, P1, repet from * to end of round).

BO very loosely in pttern.

FINIsHING

Weve in ll ends. For best results block ht over bowl or other ppropritely-sized sphericl object.
