21 Day “Healthy Snack” Challenge

Sign up begins Monday, September 25th!! This program is CHALLENGING kids to create a new habit, a habit of eating healthier snacks. Our school will be striving for a minimum of 40%participation this year!

The Health Hustle

The Health Hustle is October 25, 2017 @ the Allen Event Center from 4:30pm - 8:30pm. It is FREE to attend and will have over 150 booths to visit and enjoy. There will be swag bags, doorprizes, booth giveaways, food, inflatables, trampolines, and more!

Fun for the whole family :)

This year’s challenge:

Each elementary school in the district will compete against each

other to see who will have the most participants take the Challenge?

Each campus that has at least 40% of their student population sign-up

AND take the end survey will receive $500 to use for wellness initiatives.

What is 21-Day Challenge?.

For 21 days, participants use the Kids Teaching Kids snack book, the snack finder on the kids-teaching-kids website, or choose

a healthy snack of their own to eat.

Parents, please register your child for the 21-Day challenge at www.kids-teaching-kids.com Click on “Sign-Up” Click on “Sign-up a Student”If you are registering more than 1 child, please complete 1 child’s registration at a time. Record the 8-digit “Secret Code” on the Snacking Log in the back of this book. You will receive a different code for each child that you register.

Each day, for 21 straight days, create a healthy snack that includes a fruit or veggie. You mayuse the recipe book* we provided or the “healthy snack finder” at www.kids-teaching-kids.com.

Note: To use the “healthy snack finder”, simply type in an ingredient. The snack finder will search our data base of hundreds of healthier snacks that utilize that ingredient.

Each day, write down your snack in the Snacking Log in the back of this book.

Two weeks after completing the challenge, be on the lookout for an email to take a brief survey. You will use your “Secret Code” and snacking log to complete the survey. Students who have signed-up, completed the challenge and taken the survey will receive a reward when they return from Winter Break.
