INTRODUCTION
Logos is a Greek word meaning logic.
Logos is a literary device that can be defined as a statement, sentence or argument used to convince or persuade the targeted audience
Logos in advertisements
Logos - distinguish a company from its competitors that is immediately recognizable.
Establishes a visual identity for the company
Often include a name or initials to identify a company.
One of the most famous logos is that of Coca Cola. The design of the words "Coca Cola" has not changed since 1886
Logos can be emotive
Can inspire loyalty
Logos need to be original
Create an impact and style.
Incorporate an idea of the product - steering wheel in the Mercedes logo or aero plane tail of Alitalia.

Trademark and LogosTrademark is about protecting things that identify abusiness in the marketplace and logos are amongthe most important means of identification. Assuch, logos are generally protected by trademarkand enforceable as such.
Trademark is much more broad than copyright.Where copyright doesn’t expand to things such asnames, colors, typefaces, designs, etc. trademarkdoes or at least can. However, trademark is alsomuch more limited than copyright in that, wherecopyright is designed to protect against almost allunlicensed copying that is outside of fair use,trademark only deals with use of the mark thatcauses confusion in that company’s marketplace.
