STYLE

The New Wave logo design embodies the strength and professionalism of the brand identity. The clean bold design says fluidity, power, competitive and relevance.

The New Wave brand lives in the financial and the Esports world, at times residing in both or needing autonomy. The color palette is used to unite and define the different entities of the corporation. The gaming logo will be the primary logo in the future but while the company evolves a distinct definition was created.

A core blue color hex#14436a is used in all instances to unite the logo while the secondary colors are used to define the worlds. There are two sets of logos; financial and gaming.

The financial logo encompasses the dark strong blue tones.

The gaming logo encompass the dark strong blue tones as well, while adding bright splashes of energy.

Context

As with colors being contextually tied, so is the New Wave logo. It has been designed to appear both in cases where a dark background and a light background exist as the backdrop. When attempting to place the logo on a dark background, please refer to the examples on the right, subsequently when placing the logo on a light background use the examples on the left.

In these examples one can note, that the color schemes of the logos are slightly differing. Despite being slightly altered color schemes, the integrity of the color choices remains the same. They still evoke the same stability, trust, and excitement that the colors individually represent.

The color palette of New Wave Esports is especially dominated by blue hues. It has been chosen to depict many of the values the company holds as a whole.

Additionally, it has been used in this case to elicit a specific consumer emotion. Blue is said to be associated with depth and stability. It also evokes trust, loyalty, wisdom and confidence amongst much more.

This light blue is close in palette to the teal used in the gaming logo, being a softer shade inviting approachability to becomes part of the financial world New Wave Esports.

Light blue highlights all of blues emotions and further emphasizing trust in loyalty.

Black gives depth and variation to the blue palette. Emphasizing the strengthen and power of the logo.

Black implies self-control. discipline, authority and power, while carrying an air of elegance and sophistication. All these aspects are used in conjunction with the other colors to posit New Wave as an authority in the financial world.

The New Wave logo is a combination of a modern typeface with strong angular lines as well as a balance of curves that is represented in the ‘Esports’ and the icon.

The logo has four different iterations and each can be used in its’ own specific context. The four instances as seen on the right. The logos can be thought of as: (from top to bottom) Stacked Bug Logo, Horizontal Logo, Stacked Horizontal Logo and Acronym Logo.

Additionally, these logos and their color scheme are intended to live on specific backgrounds. The preferred financial branding would be living on white or light valued backgrounds.

When the financial logo needs to live on black or dark valued background the logo palette has changed for readability. The background, black now becomes part of the palette, representing the strength. While the blue palette increases for distinction.

Teal becomes a natural part of the New Wave logo due to the melding of Blue and Green; Finance and Esports. It is used to create a harmonious bridge between these two previously unmatched concepts.

Teal combines the calming properties of blue with the renewal qualities of green. It is a revitalizing and rejuvenating color that also represents open communication and clarity of thought.

Green as used in the New Wave color palette is to evoke a number of things. Especially used in instances where Esports is often highlighted, it will be used in support to the main blue hues.

Green is described in ways to connote a sense of freshness, growth, stability, endurance. All these aspects are used in conjunction with the other colors to posit New Wave as an authority in Esports.

Spacing

Spacing is a vital aspect in design. It not only provides the buffer zone that a design needs to breathe, it also counteracts the potential of obscuring the design as a whole; or in certain situations it prevents conflating the logo with any nearby designs. Due to this principle the New Wave logo has has its’ spacing clearly defined. The height of “Esports” has been used as a template to describe the exclusion zone / breathing room around the icon.

Please, refer to the image on the right as an illustration of this idea. On the next page, the zoning construction box has been placed on the remaining logo iterations to further this principle.

LOGO DON’ts

It is important to keep the logos design’s integrity intact. In support of this consistency, no attempt to alter the logo in any way should be made. Keep the design consistent across ALL iterations.

These logo iterations are allowed and keep the design’s integrity. All Don’t also apply to these iterations.

DOUse the appropriate logo as an icon, as long as the brand has been established in the past or concurrently.

Black and White logos may be used for black and white aesthetics, color is always preferred.
