Cypresswood Home & Garden ClubChristmas Decorating Contest
We chose five winners for having the best decorated yard or doorfor Christmas in Cypresswood. There were no 1st - 5th placesawarded as each yard/door was very deserving of being recognized! They received lovely poinsettias for their beautiful displays. Wewish we could have selected hundreds, because Cypresswoodresidents did a terrific job this year.
Trish & Jesus Valtierra on 3647 Rolling Forest edged the house and lawn withlights. The Merry Christmas sign was an added touch and the star on the roofreminded us of the true meaning of Christmas.

Patti & Kelly Matlock on 18407 Snowwood hadan eye catching yard display that reminded us of aGingerbread house. Their three girls helpeddecorate for Christmas. Good job, girls!
Jamie & Randy Pokorny on 17511Loring-Jamie said that Randy hasloved Christmas decorating all of their34 years of marriage. In fact she cantext him about something at the storeshe likes and his answer is usually “Getit!” Their main theme is snowmen, butalways includes a nativity to make suretheir street sees the true meaning ofcelebrating Christmas.
Their 2 grandchildren have really gotten into the spirit this year. Grampaadded beautiful icicle lights. While visiting with them a crayon drawncard was left on their mailbox from Gracie, thanking them for theirbeautiful display. Randy says children are why he does it. We chosethem because we got an immediate feel of Christmas-warm andhappy! The family on Mantana wasn’t available, so we don’t know their
names. This house displays many colorful lights as Santa welcomesus to the North Pole. The gingerbread boy and girl are outsidetheir house smiling as they envision what Santa will bring them onChristmas day. Of course, there is a special section devoted toSanta watching over the baby Jesus while a decorated tree sitsclose by and a welcoming star shines above. The house is veryfestive andreminds usall of theexcitementwe felt asc h i l d r e na w a i t i n gS a n t a ’ sarrival.
Ron and Carol Maddox on 3623 Aldergrove-Thishouse displays white twinkling lights on the door, porch and throughout the yard reminding us of awinter wonderland. The large tree in the yard withwhite lights and big red star on top complete thefestive decor. The simplicity and elegance arebeautiful.
