LOCATION SCOUTING

TARA AND CLAIRE

BOURNVILLE PARK

This will be an ideal setting for our scenes with all the friends together. The naturalistic setting is extremely useful in conveying the realism of where teens “hang out” on an average

day. A key element is verisimilitude and this setting will definitely be effective in portraying that.

JESS’ HOUSEJess’ house is extremely conventional of a teen. Her room is auntentically not ”perfect”

enhancing the relatability of the extract. We’ve carefully considered the mise en scene too: for Katie, the room is typically feminine with pink furniture complementing the costume. For Jack, the blue wallpaper and furniture conveys the stereotypical “lad” character. Lastly,

the living room is perfect for filming our morning conversation scene as it creates a relaxed room even when the character’s emotions are heightened.

PHOTOGRAPHY ROOM

We’re aware of how important lighting is, in any sequence. After thinking about the most appropriate/conventional use of lighting: we decided on the photography room for our kidnap scene. Almost the entirety of our teen film is at an equilibrium, in our audience research we noticed many people felt this genre lacked enigma. So, by using a room with controllable lighting: it’s simple for us to make effective and enigmatically dark lighting for our intense moments.

NIAMH’S HOUSE

Niamh’s house is perfect for our extract because her room and street is extremely typical of the teen.

Moreover, the pictures of friends and pink furniture complements the conventional

costume: and reinforces the typical teen image. Plus, the street will be used for the morning

routine; it’s an everyday setting that will again reinforce the verisimiltude of our opening.
