• Comprehensive effort to collect centerline coordinates, linear measures, & highway features (intersections, mileposts, bridges, etc.) for base reference network

• NavStar Mapping data collection system: – Differential GPS– Inertial Navigation System (INS)

GyrocompassAltimeterDistance Measurement Instrument (DMI)Separate GPS for time

– Calculates linear measures and fills gaps in GPS signal– Accuracy + 15 feet as determined by DOT GIS/Mapping

Asset Management User Interface

• Import HAS/GIS reference feature data file to MMS (provides look-up table of features and their milepoints)

• Modify MMS user interface so users can select reference features (and enter + or – offset distance when appropriate); MMS software assigns appropriate milepoint
