Interview - Setup

• Select a comfortable location (library, senior center, assisted living locations)

• Use space that is appropriate for audio recording

• Arrange for help with equipment setup• Create a relaxed environment (bring water)• Be prepared with questions

• Audio release (see handout)• Explain scope of project and how their

recorded interviews will be used• Identify topics that will be discussed

• Clear beginning to the interview, including introduction (name, date, etc)

• Talk as little as possible• Use questions to lead• Avoid pausing or editing during interview
