Warm upWhat is a shadow? Talk to your grown up. Remember to use the word because to explain why you think something.

What materials make shadows? Can you think of the scientific words we learnt about in science when talking about materials?

That's right! A shadow is created when the light is blocked by an OPAQUE object!

Opaque objects are ones that you cannot see through. Transparent are see through objects. Can you see any opaque and transparent objects from where you are sat? Here are a few.

TaskToday, we are going to create shadow drawings.

Instructions - Go and find objects around your house or garden that you would like to draw.

-Find somewhere that you can get lots of light.

- Place your object in the light, one at a time.

- Put a piece of paper under your object and trace around the shadow!
