“Lo Cortes No Quita Lo Gallardo” is a perfect symbiosis between classical and flamenco. José María Gallardo del Rey and Miguel Ángel Cortés, inheritors of a hermetic tradition in each case, are the most ambitious guitar players of recent guitar duos. With their music and natures open, they pro-pose to demolish some walls of Spanish sillar.
The union of these exceptional guitarists shows us that the branches of both worlds, the flamenco guitar and the classical guitar, take root in the common trunk of the Spanish guitar, from which di-fferent brothers, styles and expressions flow, but with the same soul and Same strength. The characteristic interpretive strength of each of these formidable guitarists, generate a dia- logue, which exhales all the expressive power, the feeling and the identity of our guitar.

J o s é M a r í a G a l l a r d o D e l R e yHis career is recognized by different international interpreting awards, as well as his intense composi-tional work. His training as a classical guitarist has been enriched by his intense relationship with the world of fla-menco. The combination of both styles has created a unique way to interpret and understand Spanish music. That is why his presence becomes essential in projects with professionals such as Plácido Domingo, Elina Garança, Teresa Berganza or his work as direc-tor and artistic adviser of Paco de Lucía in his debut with the “Concierto de Aranjuez”.

M i g u e l Á n g e l C o r t é sMiguel Ángel Cortés was born in Granada in the midst of a family of straggling guitarists. At the early age of eight years he entered the world of flamenco through the Zambra del Sacromonte, and has since worked with the most important singers and dan-cers.
Its sound is an exquisite blend of sensitivity to clas-sical touches coupled with a meticulous search for new musical forms.
In his “history”, he stands out as First Prize of the Guitar Competition Paco de Lucía and collaborator in the recording of the album “Omega”, by Enrique Morente and the rock group Lagartija Nick.
