1. Don't donate supplies.

Sending supplies is impractical since it is difficult

transporting them to the people in need inside of a

disaster zone.

2. Don't donate over thephone.

Phone calls are an easy way for scammers to

exploit a crisis. If an organization calling for a

donation strikes your interest, ask them to send

you more information before you pull out your

credit card.

3. Do your research beforedonating online.

Before you donate, make sure you know

where your money is going. Many 'charities'

keep as much as 97 cents on the dollar. Do

your homework and find causes committed to

helping the same causes as you.
