New Family Survey Launched: If you are a new family to St. John’s and experiencing your first year with us, you should have received an email with the URL link for accessing the survey. If you did not receive this email, please contact Jodi Holte for the link. Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Days: On Saturday, January 31 st and Saturday, Feb. 7 th St. John’s will be conducting assessments of those student applicants for next year’s Kindergarten. If you have not scheduled a time, contact the school office immediately. Golf Event: Our annual Golf Event will be held at Alta Vista Country Club on Monday, February 16 th – Presidents Day. Come and enjoy the day with fun, fellowship and food. Students received one snowball for every 10 Box Top$ collected. Mrs. Stuewe’s class will enjoy a free dress day and possession of the roving library trophy. Our February Box Top$ collection continues with a heart-on-the-door contest for grades K-5. Students will receive one heart for every 10 Box Top$ collected. The classroom door with the most hearts on February 27 will win a free dress day and possession of the roving library trophy. All funds collected through Box Top$ are used to build our school library program. Thank you for your support. DENIM 4 DOLLARS - Feb. 6th is also our next Denim 4 $ fundraiser. Proceeds will go to the Sanctuary Restoration fund. Our goal is 100% participation. Those who don't have denim to wear or don't like wearing it can always just make a donation. ST. BAPTISM INFORMATION MEETING – Interested in finding out more about Baptism? What it means to be baptized at St. John’s or why we have baptism? Please come to an informational meeting with an Elder. DISCOVER ST. JOHN’S! – Interested in hearing more about St. John’s and the ministries offered? Have you wanted to find out how you can get more involved and what it would be like to call St. John’s your church home? This is a great opportunity to hear more about St. John’s, take a tour of the campus and see what we are all about! This is a one-time class. MomsLife is registering for Spring 2015. MomsLife is a group of Moms with children ages 0- 8th grade that meets once or twice a month for a speaker and craft. Our speaker dates are Feb 5 (How to protect your kids online), Mar 5 (chores and allowances), Apr 2 (a marriage talk) and May 7 (Tea and Testimony from Kristyn Von Rotz from Forever Footprints). Concordia University Irvine Family Pops Concert 2015: "Bandcraft: How to Recreate the Greatest Video Games...Without the Video!" presented by the Concordia Wind Orchestra. This Saturday, January 31st, at 11am! O.K. kids (and dads and moms), put down those joysticks, Wii remotes and iPads! Come and hear the most realistic video games ever contrived in an action-packed concert led by Super Mario Conductor! Rated E for everyone, this exciting 40-minute concert with character skits is appropriate for all ages – from Atari lovers to Xbox gamers. When the concert is over, the kids can stay and play at our completely offline Concordia outdoor carnival. All games are free, and a barbecue lunch is available for purchase. Complimentary admission and parking. Arrive early! See attached flyer!

BAROQUE MUSIC FEST: Three events will be offered on our second annual Baroque Music Fest Weekend: Friday, February 20 at 7:30 p.m. a Baroque Organ Music Concert featuring Jared Jacobsen; Saturday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m. Baroque Anthems and Orchestral Music featuring our Cathedral Singers and Orchestra; Sunday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m. a Bach Cantata Vespers Concert: Ich geh und suche mit Verlangen (I Go and Search for Thee with Longing, Cantata 49) will feature our Jubilate Choir, two soloists, orchestra, and Charles Raasch at the organ. Dr. William Heide conducts. There is no charge. A freewill offering will be taken. Nursery care for children under age 5 is available. Bring a friend!

SHARE EVENT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY - Join us for the next Love Santa Ana Initiative Work Day! When: Saturday February 14

th 8:00am -12:00pm

Where: St. John’s people will gather together with the people serving from Trinity Cristo Rey at Trinity Cristo Rey at 7:00am (902 S Broadway Santa Ana, CA). From there we will travel to the Willard Neighborhood to serve from 8:00am to noon, What: Together we will work on beautifying the neighborhood and bringing restoration through trash pick -up, Graffiti removal and painting. There will also be a resource fair with kid’s games and activities (This is a kid-friendly event, and a great opportunity for them to serve alongside Moms and Dads). You may be asked to serve in any of these areas. Wear Sneakers, work clothes & your yellow shirt (If you don’t have one you can pick yours up the day of the event). Bring along work gloves and any tools you would like to use. (Tools will also be provided). Register through the church website.

Reminder: For the Winter sports season, all drivers must complete and return the Volunteer paperwork and be cleared to be able to drive players to away games. If you were cleared during the Fall season, then you are set for the Winter and Spring seasons.

If you have not paid the $75 athletic fee for the Winter season, please send payment to the school office as soon as possible.
