Installations for any solid floor

LK CLIP RAIL 16/20 is used for installing in screed above fl oor insulation.

The clip rail is fi xed to the buil-ding insulation using plastic stap-les. The fl oor heating pipes are then simply and easily pressed into the clip rail. The clip rail holds the pipe securely and at the correct spacing to guarantee uniform heat emission.

Once the installation is complete, screed is applied and the fi nal fl oor fi nish can be laid.

LK CLIP RAIL 12 is designed for LK’s 12-mm pipes and is often used for the renovation of small areas, such as bathrooms, entrance halls and laundry rooms.

The clip rail has double-sided tape so that it can be easily fi xed

direct to the sub fl ooring. Once the pipes are positioned in the clip rail, they are encapsulated in self-levelling screed or fi ller. Then, all that is left is installation of the fi nal fl ooring.

LK CLIP RAIL 8 is designed for our 8-mm pipes. The system has a low construction height, which makes it ideal for renovations and addi-tional building extentions.

The clip rail has double-sided tape so that it can be easily fi xed direct to the sub fl ooring. The pipes are positioned in the clip rail, encapsulated in self-levelling screed and then the fl ooring in installed.

LK Floor Heating is easily installed in new-build or

renovations. We have solutions for all types of surfaces and

constructions. There are three different systems for setting

in screed or concrete.

Heating in suspended floors

LK HEATFLOOR 22 is a load bearing fl oor grade chipboard, designed for standard joists spaced at 600 mm. The slott ed board replaces the standard 22 mm sub fl ooring and is often installed at an early stage of construction and before the fl oor heating is installed.

The slott ed boards are laid across the joists and then fi tt ed with heat distribution plates. The fl oor hea-ting pipes are easily pushed into the aluminium slots; the plates ensure heat is spread evenly across the entire fl oor surface. The fi nal fl ooring is then laid.

LK FLOOR JOIST PLATE 16/20 is used on fl oor joists spaced at 600 mm centres only and where a load-bearing fl oor (such as solid wood fl ooring) will be fi xed directly to the joists.

The joist plate is fi xed and laid so that the pipes run between the joists. Once the pipes are laid

in the joist plate slots, the fi nal load-bearing fl oor can be installed directly on the fl oor heating. The total installation height depends on the thickness of the fi nal fl ooring.

LK HEAT DISTRIBUTION PLATE 16 is used when secondary spaced boarding is required. The system is ideal for those who wish to renovate an older house with joists that have varying centre distances. With this installation method, the installation height is 28 mm.

There is one additional installa-tion method, where the construc-tion is set between the joists. Here the installation height is 0 mm.

In both methods, the heat distri-bution plate is installed in the gaps between the secondary boards and is fi xed to them. The pipes are pushed into the plate’s slots. The fi nal fl ooring is then laid in place over the installation.

When LK Floor Heating is installed on joists, the standard sub

flooring in the construction can often be replaced with LK’s pre-

slotted system boards for floor heating pipes.

Smart solutions for difficult installations

LK SLOTTED BOARD EPS 16 is the solution for anyone who is renova-ting a room with restricted height. The insulated, pre-slotted board is only 16 mm thick and is installed over existing floors.

The heating pipe loops are simp-ly pushed into the slots of boards, which are entirely covered by a pre-fixed aluminium plate. Heat from the pipes is spread evenly across the entire floor surface, with little downward heat loss.

The final flooring is then instal-led directly on top of the boards. If, for example, you decide to lay tiles over the floor heating installation, the total installation height is only 26 mm.

LK SLOTTED BOARD EPS 30/50 is used for floor heating on a load bearing floor that requires ad-ditional insulation. It is therefore suitable for installation on existing ground-slab, intermediate floor or in a cellar space.

The pre-slotted boards, available in thicknesses of 30 mm and 50 mm, has slots for aluminium heat distri-bution plates. The heating pipe loops are then pushed easily into the aluminium slots, ensuring heat is evenly distributed over the floor surface. The final flooring is instal-led “floating” over the heating installation.

When renovating, construction limitations must be kept in

mind. For this reason, we have developed products to keep

build heights to a minimum. Also read about our system for

The heart and the brain of your floor heating system

Behind the cosy, reliable and economic heating lays some clever engineering. Water temperature and room temperature are carefully balanced for

comfort by a range of solutions; consult your LK installer or LK system supplier to ensure the right solution for your home.

The only component of the floor heating installation you see is the discreet room thermo-

stat in an elegant and timeless design. The thermostats are available in high-gloss white,

high-gloss black and silver grey. Every room always has its individual heat regulation

and control.

LK MANIFOLD RF

The manifold is the heart of your fl oor hea-ting system and is placed centrally in the area where the heating loops are laid. LK Manifold RF is available in diff erent sizes, from 2 up to 12 fl oor heating loops.

Primary plumbing from the boiler is con-nected to the manifold, where the fl ow to each heating loop is controlled, ensuring the manifold balances the fl oor heating system so that diff erent rooms or areas have the correct temperatures.

INDIVIDUAL ROOM REGULATION

Using LK Room Thermostat, each room has just the right temperature. Thermostats are placed in all rooms to”detect” and communicate the room’s heating needs to the motorised valves on the manifold.

All LK thermostats use self-modulation technique, which means that the fl ow in the loops continuously optimized based on the room’s needs. Thereby a bett er comfort and a more energy effi cient and environmentally smarter fl oor heating system is achieved,than with systems using traditional on-/off technique. This technique is standard for all of our thermostats.

We have three diff erent types of room thermostats. LK Basic S1 is a wired thermo-stat. LK ICS with LCD display is available in both wireless and wired models.

LK SHUNT

Floor heating systems are low-temperature systems that generally have flow temperatures about 15°C lower than a radiator system. For this reason, a shunt pack is necessary if floor heating is to be installed in heating systems combined with radiators.

LK Shunts are designed to mix boiler heated radiator water with cooled return water from

the floor heating coils before the water is re-turned to the floor heating system. This makes it possible for both radiators and floor heating to have the “right” temperature.

LK Shunts are available in several sizes, so regardless of how large or small your floor heating system, we have the right shunt for you.

LK MINI LOOP VALVE M5

LK Mini Loop Valve M5 is the obvious choice for small floor heating installations, such as bathrooms, entrance halls or laundry rooms.

The mini loop valve makes it easy to connect small floor heating areas to an existing heating system. It also gives you a stylish, discreet installation since the compact valve can be mounted in the wall in an integrated cabinet or hidden behind a wall cover.

LK MINISHUNT M60

LK Minishunt M60 is a compact, yet complete, mixing unit for floor areas to about 60 m2.

The minishunt is used to connect to existing radiator systems where the floor heating is installed in extensions or conservatories.

LK Minishunt M60 can be connected direct to existing radiator pipes. LK Minishunt M60 gives you a complete mixing unit at a low investment cost, plus it requires very little space.

LK HEATER 350

LK Heater 350 is an electric comfort heater for floor heating installations up to 12 m² with LK Minishunt M60.

LK Heater 350 makes it possible to have warm floor in single rooms (e.g. bathrooms) when the house´s regular heat source is turned off.

Even if our fl oor heating systems are safe and well tested, accidents can happen. So it’s reassuring to know that LK Manifold Cabinet WP RF has a water tight base to contain any leaks and drain them to an inspection point.

LK Manifold Cabinet WP RF is easy to install,ensures the ‘heart’ of your fl oor heating is easily accessible, whilst neatly storing the manifold behind its clean, unobtrusive lines.

To make the installation even easier for your plumber, there are even fully pre-assembled versions.

LK HEAT EXCHANGER PACK

When building garden summer homes, it has often been considered unwise to install warm-water under fl oor heating because of the risk of damage from freezing.

The costly alternatives have been to either leave the heat on, even during the coldest months of the year, when the garden summer house is not used, or to install electric fl oor heating.

Now there is a pre-assembled solution, giving the possibility to use the heating system of the main house; the solution is called LK Heat Exchanger Pack; this separates the fl oor heating from main house heating system. The fl oor heating system can be protected from damage from freezing by using glycol, allowing the fl oor heating to be turned off without the risk of damage.

LK FLOOR HEATING PACKS

LK now has a simple way to install warm- water floor heating to existing heating systems. We have complete installation packs for floors up to 5 m2 and up to 10 m2.

The packs are ideal for installing floor heating in smaller spaces, such as bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and utility rooms. The capable DIYer can easily install these them-selves. The connection to the existing heating system should be carried out by a qualified plumber.

LK ELECTRIC BOILER

LK Electric Boiler is a wall-mounted electric boilder, primarily intended for smaller floor surfaces such as conservatories, building extensions or summerhouses.

The electric boiler allows installation of warm water floor heating in the house with direct electric heating.

When doing expansions it may not be possible to connect to the existing heat source. Thanks to the electric boiler´s handy format, it can easily be placed near the floor heating installation.

The electric boiler can be turned on or off re-motely by using the accessory LK GSM Switch.

The electric boilder is designed for floor heating areas up to 90 m2.
