Just a few minutes from downtown Panama City, City of Knowledge is strategically located across from the Panama Canal. Some 120 hectares and more than 200 buildings are home to a booming international community established for the purpose of business, academic, scientific, and humanistic collaboration.

Being part of the City of Knowledge engages students in a commitment to innovation and sustainable development, while teaching a broad range of skills designed to make international operations more effective.

SEMESTER 3Internship, Neusoft Institute, Guangdong (Guangdong Neusoft)

Neusoft Institute, Guangdong (Guangdong Neusoft), is a full-time undergraduate university with a focus on practicality and innovation, internationalization, technology and business management. The Institute receives approval from the Guangdong provincial government and is registered with the Ministry of Education.

Located in the Nanhai Information Technology Park, one of the four software parks in Guangdong province, and near Guangzhou, this semester provides an in-depth experiential learning opportunity.

Program fee is the same as Centennial’s graduate certificate programs. (See Financial Matters).

As well, we have advisors available to help students at every campus.

Centre for Academic EnglishThe Centre for Academic English is committed to supporting Centennial College’s students in their pursuit of academic success. Our workshops have been designed to address the most common areas of difficulty for students, as well as teaching English skills essential for college success.

Peer TutoringPeer tutoring enables students who may be experiencing difficulties in specific courses to seek aid from Centennial College students who are in high academic standing and have been recommended by their respective departments. Peer tutoring programs are available as one-on-one sessions or in small groups. Tutors will work with you in a supportive and encouraging environment.

LibrariesCentennial College Libraries’ activities are divided into three service streams: library services, tutoring services and media services. Tutoring services are offered at the Learning Centres situated in or near the Library at each campus. Audiovisual equipment and resources for the classroom are provided from the A/V Media Centres in or beside the Library at each campus.

HomestayComing to a new country can be exciting, but also intimidating. The Homestay program partners you with a family, which will help you to adjust to your new city by offering advice and information on getting around. You may choose to stay with the family for the duration of your study period, or just until you find your own apartment. While in homestay, you will also have the advantage of being in an environment in which English is the primary language. It will be as though you are taking an extra language class every day.

Remember, as an international student, you’ll need to take care of a few important things:

• Complete and submit your application to Centennial. Make sure you include all necessary documents.

• Pay for your tuition, including all applicable taxes and fees.

• Apply for a Study Permit at the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate. You may also require a Visa, depending on where you live.

• Book your flight and make travel arrangements.

• Arrange your accommodation, either residence or homestay.

The qualification requirements and costs for each external accreditation, designation, certification or recognition are set by the granting body and not by Centennial College. In order to qualify for any of those external accreditations, designations, certification or recognition, students and graduates will need to follow the processes and meet the applicable requirements listed on the websites and materials of those external bodies.

With more than $30 million worth of cars, trucks, motorcycles and other equipment on site, including a hangar full of real airplanes and helicopters, Ashtonbee doesn’t feel like an ordinary college campus. But that’s because the learning going on inside Ashtonbee is extraordinary. The campus is home to the School of Transportation and is one of the largest automotive and aircraft technology training centres in Canada.

Our General Arts students study here, too, as do students in some Community Studies programs.
