What is Liver Disease?

Liver Cirrhosis is a serious ailment which is primarily characterized by the

degeneration of effectual liver tissue through scar tissue, fibrosis and other

regenerative nodules such as lumps. This can ultimately lead to serious loss of

the liver functions. The prime cause of Cirrhosis is hepatitis B, hepatitis C,

acute alcoholism, association with lipid liver disease and others.

Stem Cell Implantation

• The collection of bone marrow is done from the hip bone (iliac crest) of the patient by using a thin needle to mini-puncture the skin under local

anesthesia.

• The stem cells from the collected bone marrow are evaluated to measure their strength and vitality in our

government-approved (cGMP),ultramodern laboratory.

• The next step is implantation of stem cells in the target area of the patient either by angiography or

intrathecal if angiography is unadvisable due to certain medical complexities of the patient. We

resort to local anesthesia to perform “Angiography”.

Adult stem cells are more capable of transdifferentiation than other cells. Liver

regeneration is mainly an endogenous process, driven by hepatocytes and resident hepatic stem/progenitor cells. It has been observed

that certain populations of extra hepatic Adult Stem Cells can migrate into the liver and

contribute to its repopulation and turnover . A particularly high degree of plasticity has been shown by bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs),

which can give rise to a wide range of phenotypes, including hepatocyte like cells. Inhibition of fibrinogenesis and apoptosis,

resolution of hepatic fibrosis.
