Lively Stone By D´Will 2015 – 2017

The Hellenistic culture is undoubtedly the referent of Western civilization. There is no discipline of human knowledge that does not sink its roots in it.

However, it is what we have called Mythology, the deeds of gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines narrated by Homer and Hesiod, who has fascinated and captivated the generations that have preceded us. The fascination exercised by these stories fructified in the plastic artists who molded them in paintings and sculptures, and is such the inspiration that exerted and that exerts on their creativity, that through created works of art we can see reflected with absolute acuity gestures and situations , feelings and passions of those distant times that are in the end the feeling and even the beliefs that still animate in the present.

On previous occasions I have commented on the fascination that Greco-Roman mythology exerts on me, a circumstance that activated my creative vein and pushed me to realize my personal vision of the mythological personages and their facts, transforming them into murals that pretend to be an Imitation of the images that with this theme are distributed by museums around the world.

For this I have used thousands of images of sculptures housed in the network, photographs in museums, parks and gardens, and even catalogs of decoration shops, it was about giving them the color they often had, giving them expression and recreating situations in scenarios of fantasy.

As a warning although i think it is not necessary to say that the sensuality and eroticism of which they are impregnated is not my work, they were created because the greek poets tell me, my erotic contribution to the most that has come is to strip them of the Leaves the vine and expose its attributes.
