Being Direct Everyone will have a different style and personality in practicing evangelism. Everyone will hear the gospel from a different background and perspective. All those factors considered, at some point the one sharing the gospel must be very direct in regard to the content of the gospel, their personal experience, and the call to action in every man’s life. Too often people try to soften the gospel or not demand action out of fear that it will turn someone away or create conflict. What is forgotten is that those controversial words or extreme measures being presented come from God and are essential in a soul being saved. Paul reminded his readers in Romans 1:16, “ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” These direct statements or challenges are the difference between one being saved and one being lost.

At some point in every Bible study there will be subjects or conversations that have the potential of ending the entire discussion. The same understanding of sin that led to 3,000 people being baptized in Acts 2 also lead to people throwing rocks at Stephen’s head until he died in Acts 7. It may be that we are studying with a lifelong Baptist and we have come to the subject of baptism being for the remission of sins. We may be talking to someone whom we know has a drinking or gossiping problem when we come to the subject of repentance. It may just be that we come to the subject of them understanding they are lost, and we know that the conversation will turn to their beloved family member who is going to be indicted by this opening of the scriptures. In those moments, when it is tempting to keep silent or slide over those touchy subjects, we must pray for boldness to be direct in our statements if that individual is to have a hope of being fully persuaded in their faith. Too many individuals are left “almost persuaded” because of a fear to be direct. ~Westley Hazel

Practice safety…

Stay at home if possible.

Socially distance yourself

and wear a facial mask

when you must go out.

Sanitize what you touch.

Wash your hands often.

The family of Agnes Hagin has requested our prayers. Her health has continued to

decline, and Agnes has now stopped eating. Please lift our dear sister’s name

and her family up in your prayers.

Please mark your calendars for our coming up . Forrest Park will welcome

Becky Blackmon

as she brings lessons on the . We will have a meeting for Sign-Ups as soon as we are able. Be thinking about in what area you would like to help. If you desire to set-up a table, then start thinking about decorations.

The theme will be centered around the four seasons…

To everything there is a Season,

A time for every purpose under

Heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

We need seven tables for each season. Please text Renee if you want a particular season, and be flexible if the season you pick has already filled up.

All 2020 JUNE CAMP WEEKS have been canceled this year due to the

COVID-19 pandemic. The risk of harm to campers and volunteers is not safely manageable at this time.

We are talking about having one or two weeks of camp in July IF the current conditions, restrictions, and otherwise outlook change. As soon as the board has more fully considered and made a decision on this information, July camp dates will be

published with as much advance notice as possible.
