A performer is basically the show,
they will be signed by manager
and the manager will be informed
of a concert and then decides if he
should sign the contract with a
concert manager, Thus meaning
the bands are under the contract
and must meet the requirements
during the show to be pad at the
end for playing.
The performer is the most important
thing about a live performance
because they are the performance
and without them there’s no show.
So concert managers need to find
bands that well known and will be
worth using money on.

thus meaning if the manager is
signing a contract he will check
with the band to see if its good and
then he will sign it, or if the band

A Stage manager is in charge of looking after the
stage meaning setting up
the stage, keeping it safe
for performers and keeping other roadies in
their position ready for the
concert. They are the
owners of the venue and
which means everyone
must do as they are planned to do by the stage
manger

with all of the other roadies such as light,
sound, instrument, security, promoters and
the band manager to
ensure the stage it set up
and ready for the concert.
The stage manager has
the most authority and is
in charge of all of them
while concert is being set

A merchant is the person that sell’s a
bands merchandise, this allows the
band to build a bigger fan
base ,Selling these items is also
another way to promote your band
because they are selling tops, hats,
mug’s, etc all with your band name
on which is seen by other people of
the public. This also means the band
will gain more revenue from what
they are selling, what the merchant
sells depends on how much of the
money is given to the band for
example if the merchant sold $/£570
worth of items and the band gets
70% then the band will get $/£399
and the rest will go to the merchant
to upgrade his shop or buy more
items to sell .

A merchant works with the
band and band manager as
well as the concert promoter, working with
these people allows the
merchant to sell merchandise for the band,
they work with the band
manager to see if the new
items they get will b fine to
sell for copyright issues and
they work with the promoters to further

A concert promoter is in charge of putting
together concerts and much more, the
need to be able to find the money needed
to promote the concert by earning money
or investing in their own.
The promoter will need to manage what
city the concert is held in, what type of
venue will be used and how many shows
will be promoted . For a promoter the most important thing to
do is create a starting budget. This is
because they need the funds to promote a
show however if they didn’t have enough
they wouldn’t be able to generate enough
enthusiasm for the show and without it the
promoter is to likely to lose money. Its
better for a promoter to plan over budget
and allow extra resources in case
something does not go as planned,
because the starting budget can be revised
after negotiations have taken place.

A concert promoter will work with many
different role workers, however they
usually work with the acts record company
to build enthusiasm for the show. the
promoter also works with a press agent to
help coordinate all of the press efforts,
they will also make sure the press release
press kits and complimentary tickets are
delivered to media.Depending on the venue the promoter may
be responsible for hiring other staff such as
stage managers, security guards, lighting
and sounding technicians and a stage crew.
On the night of the concert the promoters
will normally meet with the acts managers
or roadie to pay the act any money that
had not been paid before with the contract
for playing in the concert.
Tour
managem
ent
A tour manager is an individual that helps
organize the schedule of an artist or band
in terms of where and when they will be
playing. They will also be in charge of
making sure the tour is organized and not
travelling to unnecessary places when
touring, They book the accommodations,
transport, equipment and crew that will be
involved with the tour. A tour manager will act as an accountant
producing budgets and they also travel
with the band on the road and take care of
any problems that may happen.
tour managers are usually used to book
large tours and the roadie would book small
ones, this is to ensure less complication
and make the job a little bit easier for
them.

a tour by tour basis however if they
need/needed for assistance then we
they will work with others, people like
booking manager and concert
promoter are the two main types of
people he will work with to be able to
sell tickets and promote the concert as
well as book the tour for the band.
The most important people a tour
manger will work with is the roadie
and manager of the band. How they
work together is by agreeing times
best time for the band and the funds
such as the pay the band members
get for performing and more.
Roadie
roadies Also known as a road crew are
technicians who travel with a band on
tour who handle almost every part of
concert production. They also help out
when setting up and packing away at
gigs.A roadies activities consist of thing
such as lifting and carrying equipment
and sets to setting up
pyrotechnics(fireworks and laser
displays). roadies aren’t usually
noticed during a gig however they are
the reason the gig is happening and
wouldn’t be there if not. However
roadies are usually used and abused by
women to get backstage passes to view
the band, which will eventually lead to
depression and start defying the band.

There are many people that all
specialize in different areas in a road
crew, many areas such as, guitar,
bass, drums, stage manager, tour
manager, lighting and

a sound engineer is really important
because when a bands is gigging they
set up the sound and make sure it
goes all well. They don’t let any
interference mess with the sound and
will add effects to each instrument
when needed, because of this sound
engineer is a really important role and
that every band needs, which is a
huge benefit for a sound engineer,
because they will have no trouble
trying to find a band as they will find
him.

engin
eer
A light engineer is another important
part of a live performance because
they set up the lighting so that the
audience can see who's playing and
the performers can see what hey are
doing when on stage,A light roadie isn't as important as a
sound roadie however without one it
will be difficult to see anything.
Therefore pretty dull.A light engineer are usually the more
creative of the roadies as they can
create light effects such as these

This is a bad contract because there is not enough information and isn't specific enough
2 bad contract example'sI have not found any bad contracts because those that have used a bad contract will hide it with all their power so that the public does’nt find out about it.
Bad music contracts are uncommon nowadays but they still exist. A manager will usually target young, desperate or naive musicians looking for a contract . Generally because they are the weakest pray and easier to target . If the young band signs the contract without going over it with a lawyer because they are to desperate or naive to do so then they are going to end up in a really big problem. They will be unable to cancel the contract and cant leave until the deadline, which can be anything the manager put on the contract.
This is why its really important to check contracts by giving to a lawyer or just scanning it with other band members and note any questions when u revise the meeting with the band manager. Don't just sign or scan their and then make sure you take it with you for a day or two and then meet up and take most if the last meeting to ask questions about it, so you can understand it more.
