    Father Carlos’ Pills of Faith

Today we celebrate Corpus Christi and

we probably ask, why did Jesus arrange

for this transformation of bread and

wine? Well, it is because Jesus decided to remain

with us, and he decided to stay with us and to be

within us. Also, because he intended another kind of

transformation. The bread and wine are transformed

into the Body and Blood of Christ which are, in turn,

meant to transform us. Every Mass is an opportunity

to transform our sadness into joy, our loneliness into

family, our fear into strength, our despair into hope,

and our darkness into love. Our transformation

happens when we truly believe what we celebrate and

enjoy what is given to us. We should rejoice always

because we can keep Jesus, our God, within us. So,

let us prepare our hands and our hearts as a throne to

receive our loving and humble king in Body and Blood.

“We become what we eat!”, one says, and if we are

nourished and filled with Jesus, then let us be Jesus!

    Your generosity has helped

    many people! During the

weeks of June 11th, 34 bags

    of food were distributed.

    RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

PLEASE REGISTER NOW! In the quest to complete our registration process for the 2017-2018 school year before the summer break, we are asking parents to register your children right now! Registration forms may be picked up, completed and left on the table outside the Religious Ed. Office in the Parish Family Center. Each form is numbered as it comes in. Although we try to honor your choice, we can only guarantee your choice of day for the first 100 families. Early registration is to your advantage, as parents retain the ability to make changes to your choice of day up until mid August, should your schedule change later on in the spring. If you know a family that has a child entering first grade, please reach out to them to invite them to register their child this year to begin preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Questions? Please call the Religious Ed Office.

Are you thinking of a Teaching Ministry? Even as summer begins we are preparing

for next year. If you think that you may

be interested, please call us so that we

can help to answer questions and assist in

    your decision making.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Are you interested in becoming Catholic?

Are you Catholic and you wish to receive the sacraments of First Eucharist

    and Confirmation?

RCIA is for you! Please contact Father Carlos.

    MEMORIAL DONATIONS

When a loved one dies, families often request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Our Lady of the Lake. When this happens, we receive several monetary gifts for which we are

grateful. This money is added to our Memorial Fund and is used to purchase things for the Church as the need arises. The name of the deceased person is added to our memorial board near the Shrine of Saint Joseph.

People also remember the parish in their will and other ways. Last year, we received a bequest from the estate of Connie Bonner for $13,000. Recently, a member of the parish received an inheritance from her family and decided to tithe a portion of what she received to the parish. This woman donated $10,000 to be used for the restoration of the interior of the Church and for the installation of a stained glass window of the Visitation of Mary. The window was in the Chapel of Saint Bernard’s Church and is similar to the one in the foyer of the Parish Family Center. Another parishioner expressed interest in making a donation toward the purchase of an organ for the Church. She intends to leave something in her will for this specific purpose These are just a few ways that people remember with great gratitude all that their Catholic faith means to them and how that faith has been fortified and strengthen in this great parish. We are forever grateful to all whose sacrifices made it possible for us to worship, educate and celebrate in our beautiful facility. Memorial donations in our day help us to maintain and improve our buildings so that generations to come will find a home here at Our Lady of the Lake. THANK YOU!

Lady of the Lake to speak at all Masses on July
