Seller Insight“Before purchasing Little Normead in 2007, my husband and I were living in Burgundy,” says Susan, “and so when we decided to relocate to the UK we were very keen to find a new home that had a similar feeling to our house in France. When we stumbled upon Little Normead

I suppose the biggest change we made was to open up the layout downstairs to create a lovely big family room with expansive views of the grounds. “We spend an awful lot of our time outside,” says Susan, “so when we’re in the house we naturally gravitate to the family room as it has a really nice connection with the grounds. Patio doors open onto a large terrace, so we can spill out when the weather is warm, and we always have the most beautiful views.”

“It’s definitely the setting that makes this house so special,” says Susan. “The views are magnificent, particularly from the first-floor balcony, and they change with not only the seasons but also the time of day and the light. It’s an extraordinary place. Within the grounds we have stables and outbuildings. We use them mainly as storage, but in my mind they have huge potential in terms of development.”
