What was it ?

The Little Ice Age was a period where the average temperature dropped by two to three degrees.

This caused frequent, intense storms that could not be predicted.

When did it occur ?

The Little Ice Age happened during the 14th and 19th centuries

In 1653 a village in the Alps noticed that the Alp glaciers began to move unusually quickly

At about the same time other continents began to experience harsher weather, this effected them greatly.

What was it's Effects ?

The Little Ice Age wiped out most of the crops commonly grown

This caused starvation and famine related diseased that killed many people

People even killed some of their own kids to save food for the rest of the family

Can it Happen Again ?

Some scientists predict that there could be an abrupt cooling in the next few decades

Scientists believe it's part of a re-occuring cycle

Scientists have been studying the Little Ice Age to predict if there will be another one like it soon
