Before the Renaissance most books were written in Latin
Very few people spoke latin – books hard to read During the Renaissance people began to use their own
languages to write This is called “writing in the Vernacular” Writers also began to write more about everyday
human problems and less about religion One of the first Renaissance writers was Francesco
