T h e promise to which ~' A Mechanic" alludes, has not been for.- g o t t e n , and will soon be fulfilled. We havo waited for some pro- r a i s e d details which are much needed.

A subscr iber has suggested that the natural and economical history o f t h e cot ton plant, one of the most valuable staples of our country, w o u l d b e very interesting. W e will prepare a paper on this sub- j e c t , a n d shatl be obliged by the communication of any facts, which m a y a i d us ia the work.

T h e paper on the Mechanical Powers has been received,--it will b e r e s e r v e d until we obtain some cuts for ." The Artisan," when it w i l l a p p e a r , and the subject be pursued.
