FOREWORD

Welcome to the 33rd LISDUFF SALE of calved and in-calf heifers.

This year marks 50 years in existence of the IHFA and LISDUFF has been breeding black and whites

for all of that time and longer. The philosophy of breeding efficient milk producers that excel in con-

formation has never changed over the years. The jubilee edition of the IHFA journal shows that in

2014 LISDUFF bred 14 cows that classified EXCELLENT and 26 cows that classified VG in 31

herds other than LISDUFF. All those animals were sold at LISDUFF SALES. When those figures

are added to those of LISDUFF itself it shows that the herd produced 55 cows that classified

EXCELLENT and 94 that classified VG in 2014.

Management of the milking herd is kept simple. High quality grass, grass silage, some whole-crop

wheat and concentrates make up the entire diet.

This years group of calved heifers are very impressive. They are well grown and developed and have

outstanding udders. The 5 milkers by ARDNASALEM SEVEN live up to the reputation that this

bull has earned for himself since his daughters started milking……..they are good. GUARINI sires

5 milking daughters that show why he is the no.1 GOLDWYN son in Germany. CORDESMAID

STONEWALL, DANOCOL and MORNINVIEW LEVI all have impressive daughters.

The JANUARY/FEBRUARY calvers display great promise. They are backed by generations of solid

cow families that combine high production and high classification. THEY ARE ALL IN-CALF TO

FEMALE SEXED SEMEN.

Approximately 20 heifer calves from the calved heifer section will be offered after their dams. They

are sired by MIRACLE, STANTONS ELDOR, STONEWALL and MARS ALLROUND.

The sale will conclude with four bulls from special dams: MARY 41 EX923E with protein to 3.71%;

LESLIE 74 EX with protein to 3.64%; BEATRIX 149 VG with protein to 3.71% and SUNFLOWER

339 EX with protein to 3.37%.

All heifers are vaccinated against BVD, Lepto, Salmonella and IBR.

is an outcross sire from Scandinavia. Sired by the MASCOL son MASSEY and out of aROUMARE daughter he was the most heavily used AI Sire in Scandinavia in 2013. Origi-naly with a genomic proof, his first daughters are now milking. He has daughters 1 year old

at Lisduff and they display great strength, depth of body and wide rumps.

The stock will be sold in euro guineas i.e. each bid is €1.05 and VAT at livestock rate will be charged

on the .05 regulated by the Auctioneers

The highest bidder to be the buyer, and if any dispute shall arise, the lot in dispute to be put up again

and re-sold, or the Auctioneers may declare the purchaser at their discretion and their decision shall

be final. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse the bid of any person without being called upon

to give a reason for such action.

All lots to be paid for at the close of the sale. No lot or lots shall be removed from the sale premises

until paid for and a pass-out slip obtained from the Auctioneer’s clerk, but each and every lot shall im-

mediately at the fall of the hammer be considered as delivered, and be and remain in every respect

at the absolute risk of the respective purchaser or purchasers there of, and shall be removed from the

Sale premises at the purchaser’s expense. Loading shall be the duty and responsibility of the pur-

chaser.

The purchaser to give his name and dwelling place, and to remove the stock immediately after the

sale.

Every care has been taken in the compilation of this catalogue but no responsibility is taken by the

Auctioneers for any error appearing therein or in regard to the qualification of the animals and all pur-

chasers must be on this distinct understanding.

All statements in the catalogue or any made by the Auctioneers at the time of sale, also the identifica-

tion of the animals, are the entire responsibility of the Vendors. The Auctioneers take no personal re-

sponsibility for the correctness of such statements or identities.

The Auctioneers act as Agents for the Vendors and any action taken by a purchaser must be against

the Vendor and not against the Auctioneers, and “vice versa”.

Neither the Auctioneers nor the Vendors will be responsible for any accident through fire or any other

cause whatsoever; nor for any damage done by animals prior to, during or after the sale.

If any of these conditions are unfilfilled, the Vendors or the Auctioneers shall have power to re-sell the
