LISAPO - THE CONGOLESE TALES will focus on the narrative oral histories and cultural traditions of the Congolese community which has been migrating to Britain since the late 1980’s as a result of the destabilisation of the country and consequent civil war.

YOU CAN FIND US ON:www.can.uk.com/Exodus/lisapo www.facebook.com/ExodusManchesterwww.facebook.com/CommunityArtsNorthWestwww.twitter.com/comartsnw#congtales

LISAPO WILL RECORD: a portrait of the Congolese community; reasons for migration; settlement in Britain; cultures brought to the UK; and what & who were left behind.

WE WILL: provide a permanent public archive of Congolese oral histories in the UK; and produce a heritage-inspired musical oratory featuring spoken-word, song and narration that will be performed in June 2014.

PLEASE CONTACT: Peggy Mulongo, Lisapo Project Manager [email protected] or telephone 0161 234 2940/07456427741
