Gravfil’s range of liquid fillers are able to provide solutions for your filling requirements, across a wide speed

range and covering many product types. The machinery provides for outputs up to 400 containers per minute

and beyond. The designs can handle volumes from 5ml to 5 litres and larger if required. The systems utilise

volumetric or level filling technologies to fill into glass, plastic or metal containers.

a variety of applications including those where safety is a major concern as is minimum operator involvement.

Products such as washing detergents, bleach and other household chemicals are successfully handled and filled

on Gravfil machines.

Products such as motor oils, paints and adhesives all have their own unique filling

requirements, such as temperature and viscosity compensation. Again, safety aspects are

Every type of liquid - viscous or semi viscous, hot or cold - requires a method

of filling and metering into bulk or retail containers. Gravfil have a number of

different systems to suit many applications. The Gravfil filling machinery range

includes:

Most products and containers will suit a volumetric or flow metered filling process.

For containers suited to accurate dosing our volumetric piston system can give an

accuracy as high as 0.1% of the filled volume. For containers requiring a cosmetic

appearance our vacuum filling system will give an excellent and consistent fill to

the set level required.

The NEXUS Rotary Volumetric Liquid Filler

The NEXUS Rotary Volumetric filler is suitable for high speed liquid filling. The high filling

accuracy, which is up to +0.1% of cylinder volume, is ensured by the unique design of the filling

valve, which is only available on Gravfil machines. Filling volume is simply selected by the operator

from a product menu and correct adjustment is achieved by the robust, fully motorised system.

Cleaning is conducted in place and is carried out with the machine stationary. Spray balls and

scavenge pumps can be fitted to the system to further ensure that cleaning is optimised.

This machine is available in three stand-alone base sizes as well as a close coupled format.

Either 1200ml, 3000ml, or 5000ml capacity metering cylinders can be provided. The Nexus

can also be supplied with a flowmeter system.

The NEXUS machine type can also be supplied in a SENSOR form with induction or mass

flowmeters.

The NEXUS achieves success in liquid filling by utilising designs that have the simplest product feed path amongst

other features. The metering cylinder is mounted directly on to the product tank; thus ensuring maximum

efficiency with minimal maintenance.

EXCEL In-Line Volumetric Piston Filler

The range of EXCEL in-line volumetric liquid fillers offers the user an unparalleled

flexibility within a wide range of applications from food, pharmaceuticals and

toiletries to oil and chemicals.

Tool free adjustments, backed up by datum settings, enable operators to quickly

and accurately change over machine settings to meet today’s exacting production

demands. Standard on all PLC controlled machines is a highly accurate motorised

adjustment of fill volumes, which is selected from an OIT menu display.

This machine is available in three standard base sizes depending upon volume to

be filled and the speed of operation required.

ACER In-Line Volumetric Piston Filler

The ACER range of fully automatic in-line volumetric liquid filling machines offers the user a unique combination

of food quality hygienic construction and high performance. The filler is therefore ideal for accurate filling of

food products.

ACER is the first choice for low to medium speed, accurate filling of food products when cleanability, low

maintenance and flexibility are important factors. High filling accuracy of up to +0.1%is ensured as the ACER

works on the same principle developed for the NEXUS range. This is achieved by the unique design of the filling

valve.

ACER is available in three base sizes fitted with 2,4,6 or 8 heads depending upon product type , the volume to

be filled and the speed required.

VEGA Rotary Top Tank Rotary Level Fillers

The VEGA top tank fully automatic filing machine is available with either a low vacuum, high vacuum, gravity

or pressure operated level filling system. The filling accuracy is +1mm. Simplicity of construction, combined with

good accuracy of fill, make the VEGA suitable for many applications.

All liquid contact parts are of 316 grade stainless steel construction, with much of the other machine parts also

being in stainless steel.

ZETA In-Line Flowmeter Fillers

The ZETA in-line filler uses high accuracy flow metering to control the amount of liquid dosed to each container.

Depending on the type of product filled, either a conductivity or a mass flow meter can be used to achieve the

correct result. The containers are indexed under the filling heads as a group; then filled and exited in the same

manner. The machine can be supplied with up to 8 heads in-line. All liquid contact parts are in 316 grade stainless

steel construction with much of the other machine parts also in stainless steel.

UG6 Semi-Automatic TopTank Level Filler

This UG6 semi-automatic gravity filling machine is competitively priced

and fills the gap between time-consuming hand filling and fully-automatic

models. It is ideally suited for free flowing products and is capable of filing

either glass or plastic containers from 150cc up to 5 litres,

The filling nozzles are manufactured in 316 stainless steel or PTFE (depending

on the suitability to the product) and are easy to dismantle and clean.

The rapid loading system enables quick and constant production rates. A

pneumatic cap tightener, with balancing unit, can be supplied as additional

equipment.

AUTOVAC In-Line Fillers

AUTOVAC is an in-line fully automatic liquid filling machine, using vacuum

to fill to constant levels. All motions are pneumatically controlled except the

conveyor, which is electronically driven by a self contained variable speed

drive unit.

The machine is specifically designed to handle glass and all rigid containers

which will withstand a vacuum and it can be fitted with varying numbers

of filling heads to handle jars and bottles from 10ml bottles up to 5 litres.

AUTOVAC incorporates a fully automatic overflow return which does not

interrupt filling. AUTOVAC is suitable for filling cosmetics, pharmaceuticals,

wines, spirits, cordials, liquid food products and general household liquids.

Gravfil Semi-Automatic Volumetric Fillers

This machine range is the first choice for low speed, accurate filling of a variety of

products. The models within the range are as follows:

• VP-1-D • VP-1-DB • VP-1-ND

These single head units are the smallest in the range. VP is ideally suited for volumetric

filling of liquids and semi liquids within a confined environment, they occupy less than

I square metre of floor space, where output is generally low.

• VH-2-D • VH-4-DB

These models are multi-headed versions of the VP-1 range. The DB models are

specifically designed for filling aggressive products such as bleach as all product

contact parts are constructed in non-metallic materials. All models feature diving

nozzles for bottom up filling, although with Gravfil’s unique nozzle designs most

products can be filled from the top.

• VH-2-ND • VH-4-ND

These are self-contained volumetric fillers with hydraulic sequence controls arranged

for 2 or 4 head operation. The filling range of 5ml to 5 litres for the two head unit

can be expanded by interchangeable metering cylinders allowing infinite volume

adjustment.

• VAC 2,4,6

This range of semi automatic vacuum fillers is specifically for level filling of free

flowing liquids into rigid containers and is available in 2,4 or 6 head frame sizes.

Line Management and Control Systems

Gravfil can supply line management and control systems for their individual machines when they are supplied

as a complete filling and closing line. The use of control and monitoring techniques enables Gravfil to offer

a totally integrated and synchronised filling system in which individual machines interact through a central

programmable controller with operator interface terminals. This provides the benefit of being able to control

the complete system using one master control console which monitors and advises the status of all aspects of

the line.

An inbuilt management programme gives printouts of line performance and is able to provide a complete

analysis of overall operating efficiencies. The result is a system which operates more efficiently with fewer

operators and with less downtime.

Check Weigher Feedback Systems

High resolution dynamic checkweighing systems can be integrated into the system to provide on-line feedback

and machine correction capability. A variety of third party weighing systems can be integrated into our filling

line. With varying levels of complexity, the systems can include tare and/or gross checkweighing with feedback;
