Praise, Praise, Praise and Thanksgiving - Fall Fundraiser

Wow! Thank you parents for your amazing support! We are almost there! We are at 87% parent participation. We will be following up with the remainder of the families to reach our 100% goal in order to receive the $10,000 donation from a local family. Thank you for blessing your school. PAC Family Christmas Breakfast

Saturday December 7th - 9:00 am – 11:00 am The Christmas Breakfast will be held Saturday, December 7th. Please note that as this is a catered event there will be no ticket sales at the door.

Grade 6 & 7 Entrepreneur Fair Just a reminder that the grade 6 and 7 students will be selling their handmade treats and crafts on Friday during school in the afternoon from 1:30-2:30pm and during the Christmas breakfast on Saturday morning from 9:30-11:00am. Students are encouraged to bring some money tomorrow to buy goodies. Thank you for supporting the grade 6 and 7 students and all their hard work.

The Shopfunds program is a great fundraiser for the PAC. You pay for the amount of the gift card ordered and we purchase them at a discount. There is no extra cost to you! With Christmas fast approaching purchase gift cards as the perfect gift for friends, family or co-workers. Gift cards cannot be replaced if lost or stolen, so treat them like cash. 1, Print (landscape) and fill out the attached order form 2. Include a cheque payable to LGCA PAC of total amount of gift cards ordered 3. Bring order forms to the school office by DEC 6

Tomorrow, Friday, December 6th is the deadline for registering your child in the lunch time chess club for grade 4-7 students starting in January. Registration forms can be collected from the office.

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT

COSTUMES FOR STUDENTS: Parents, below is the costume requirements for your children: Grade K Angels and Shepherds - costumes provided by school Grade 1 "Stars" they will need to come dressed in all black ( no logos or decorations) Grade 2-5 Non-actors white school dress formal shirt ( not the golf shirt ) dark pants or skirt - jeans are okay; traditional Santa hat - red and white only, no flashy decorations, words or lights The school will be providing bow ties

ACTORS: The school will be providing the costumes and they will be told what to wear under the costumes.

Grade 6 and 7 students in the band are to wear their formal school uniform.

LGCA’s Elementary School will be presenting the Christmas Concert at Centennial Theatre on Thursday, December 19th at 7:00 pm for students in Kindergarten to Grade 7. The Kindergarten to Grade 5’s will be performing in the school concert. The Grade 6 & 7’s will be playing in the Band. Please invite your relatives, friends and neighbours too! Pasture to Plate – www.pasturetoplate.ca We have a family who own “Pasture to Plate” and they would like to give back to LGCA. They will donate 10% of the total amount of your order to LGCA. Please see attached document for further information.

After School Art classes to start on January 13th, 2020 Please see attached document regarding an after school art program that will be offered to grade 3-7 students at the school through Caroline Liggett. There is a cost for this program which will be held from January13-March 9th from 3:15pm – 5:15pm in the Grade 2/3 classroom.

Procedure for School Closure due to inclement weather/power failure In case of school closure due to inclement weather or other emergencies such as power failure, the following steps will be followed:

x A voice mail will be left on the school answering machine. x An email will be sent to you advising you of the closure. x Please listen to the radio - News 1130 am, CKNW, City TV Breakfast Show. x Parents please note that we will make the best decision possible regarding closure however we realize

that parents live in different areas and therefore parents have the final say as to whether they feel it is safe to bring their child/ren to school.

Learn how to paint with acrylics. This painting class will bring your child

through the mechanics of landscapes, still life and abstract painting.
