President Mark Conrad 2013 - 2014 By-Lions Secretary John Cole “Liberty Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety” October/ November 2013 Katya Greetings Keyser Lions! Welcome to Fall. The year is going by fast! Our second meeting of September took place on the 19th at the West End Park. We had our annual picnic with lots of food, fun, and fellowship. Our special guest was 1st Vice District Governor Doug Long. He presented Lion Joe Bane with his Melvin Jones Fellow Award. Congratula- tions, Lion Joe! On October 2nd the Fort Ashby Lions Club hosted a Zone II Meeting. Lions Dallas, Howard, and Mark at- tended the meeting. Lion Rob Bright, Zone II Chairman, and 1st Vice District Governor Doug Long gave us an update on news from District 29-I. Representatives from each of the clubs in the zone also gave an update on their club’s activities as well. Our first meeting of October was on the 3rd at University Place at Potomac State College at 6:30 pm. Our speaker was Connie Sutton from the Keyser-Mineral County Public Library. She gave a wide-ranging and enter- taining presentation on the plans for the new library, the services the library offers, and even read us some chil- dren’s poetry. It was a great evening. Our second meeting of October will take place on the 17th at University Place at Potomac State College at 6:30. Our guest speaker will be Kelli Wittman, Campaign Coordinator for Warm the Children. Be sure to come out and hear about this important program helping children in our community. Our first meeting of November will take place on the 7th. We will meet at University Place for a brief meeting and meal. Then we will hop in our cars and go to the Mineral Daily News Tribune for a tour of their facility. It should be an interesting evening and you may want to bring family and friends along. Our second meeting of November will take place on the 21st at University Place. Our very special guest will be District Governor George Quinn. He will update us on what is going on throughout District 29-I and beyond. Greetings Keyser Lions!

Welcome to Fall. The year is going by fast! Our second meeting of September took place on the 19th at the
