    • LION BRAND® crochet hook size J-10 (6 mm)• LION BRAND® large-eyed blunt needle

ADDITIONAL MATERIAL4 in. (10 cm) piece of cardboard (for tassels)

    GAUGE5 (ch 3, 3 dc) squares = about 4 in. (10 cm).BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

TECHNIQUE EXPLANATIONCorner-to-Corner (C2C) The Corner-to-Corner (C2C) technique uses different color crochet squares to form a graphic design. Each crochet square is created by working (sl st, ch 3, 3 dc) in an indicated space.

    • The squares are arranged diagonally in rows, beginning in one corner of the piece. The firstsquare (Row 1) forms a lower corner. The next 2 squares (Row 2) are worked diagonally overRow 1. The 3 squares of Row 3 are then worked diagonally over Row 2, and so on.

    • Color changes for C2C designs are provided in a Chart. Each square in the Chart represents a (slst, ch 3, 3 dc) crochet square. The rows of the Chart are read diagonally, back and forth.

NOTES1. Scarf is worked in C2C from lower right corner upwards, changing yarn color following Chart. In this

design, Row 1 of Chart is read diagonally from left to right, Row 2 is read diagonally from right toleft, and so on.

    2. This C2C project is shaped by carefully adding or omitting squares at the beginning or ends of rows.In this design, 1 square is increased in each of the first 15 rows. The number of squares is thenkept even at 15 squares per row until a total of 120 rows have been worked. Finally, 1 square isdecreased in each of the last 15 rows.

    3. To change yarn color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and drawthrough all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. You can either cut the oldcolor leaving a long tail to weave in later or leave it hanging on WS. Carefully pull old color up toyour hook when needed in next row. Wind yarn into separate small balls or onto bobbins so thatyou can have one small ball of yarn for each section of color and will not need to carry yarn too faralong WS piece.

    4. For those who find a visual helpful, we have provided a stitch diagram.
