Parents notice duplication! It is often
translated as “the photographer didn’t know
what to do,” on comments!
Infants feel like they are falling when placed
on their backs!

Mini Chairman’s
Better Setup = Better Babies the tools of the trade
So…last week we looked at how to do the basic setup. This week we will look
at using the bumpers, wash cloths and noodles to help the babies avoid
slouching. Here are a few things to remember:
All babies are different, there are common ways to use these items,
but try different things with them, to get it just right.
If something looks uncomfortable or awkward, CHANGE IT
The support tools you use can depend on the fullness of your bean
bag; check it when grabbing support items.
Keep a box of the support items to make it easier to grab them!
Supporting the Head & Neck
There are countless ways that you can use to fix the head & necks
lack of support in our youngest infants.
All babies are different, the photographer here used a mix of
noodle, washcloth and a baby bumper under the bear to keep its
head straight. Sometimes it may take all three. Sometimes just the
noodle alone or a washcloth behind the baby’s neck will fix it.
The best thing to do is put the baby down in your base setup and
adjust and add support one step at a time to straighten
them out. Don’t forget to smooth your blanket!
You’ll note here that something under the feet also keep
them together.
You can’t see it, but the
bumper is in behind the
bear to help it lay on its
side. The noodle is
keeping the general
shape support for the
pose, to keep the baby’s
feet in. And the wash
cloths are helping keep
the baby’s face visible.
Falling & Flailing
A lot of our babies lay
back and spread out
when we start to lay
them on their sides. This
fix again used all three
of the tools we are
talking about. The
noodle, bumper & wash
cloth.
Key Reminders
Keep Babies Safe!
Smooth Out Your Blankets!
If something looks awkward, fix it!
Sometimes it only takes one support tool; sometimes
it takes all of them.
Keep all your support items together in an, “Infant”
or “Better Babies” box.
Have fun and WOW those parents!
