Self-confidence will change your lifeThere was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out.

Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands,wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. I can see that something is troubling you he said.

After listening to the executives woes, the old man said, I believe I can help you.

He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, Take this money. Meet mehere exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.

Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.

The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of therichest men in the world!

I can erase my money worries in an instant! he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashedcheck in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, hethought.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales.Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.

Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old manappeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse camerunning up and grabbed the old man.

Long live daughters!A couple made a deal the night of their wedding to not open the door of their room to anybody whocomes knocking in the morning for any reason. In the morning the parents of the husband came &knocked on the door, the husband and the wife were looking at each other& as they agreed before, theydidn't open the door. Threason was not based on any improvement in the economic scenario, but was due to theeuphoria generated by the change of regime at the Reserve Bank of India with effect from5/9/13.The markets suffered great set back with announcement of half yearly policy bythe new Governor of RBI on 20 th. The market expectation was that the new governor willreduce the interest rates. What happened was the opposite. Repo rates were hiked by 25basis points by the new governor apparently to reduce circulation of money and thereby

the prevailing high inflation. The new governor gave priority to reduce inflation thangrowth of economy. From the announcement of new policy on 20 th the market indicatorSensex came down to 19727 from 20645. The nifty reached 5833 from 6116. Volume oftrade was also not high. The daily rate of change oscillator has declined to the negativezone implying that the short term uptrend is under threat.

The short term trend in the sensex is under stress. It has critical supports at 19500,19392and then at 19290.The presence of 50 and 200 day moving averages at the last twosupports implies that the index can attempt to reverse from these levels. Decline below19300 will drag the index lower to 19100 or to 18720.Target on a move above 20700 is21330.If the index manages to hold above 19300 over the coming weeks it will attempt tospurt once again to the resistance zone between 20700 and 21100.

Following closely the sensex, the nifty also declined to 5833 on 27 th.The supports are at5765 and then at 5677.If the index could manage to remain above 5712 it can movehigher to 6020 or 6142 in the days ahead. Failure to clear 6020 will be the cue for tradersto initiate fresh short position on the index.

The time is not ripe for retail investors to enter the markets. Even though the trend is

showing decline, the valuations are still high for entering the market. They may wait forthe indices to show some definite trend. Entry may be considered when the indicesdecline to 19000 and 5500 levels. The correct time to enter the market is when theindices are declining. The retail investors may watch the trend and do appropriately.
