Spiritual World.

Light is Part of the Natural World of Creation Genesis 1:3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. [4] And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. [5] God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day. A World Without Light is a World Without Life

Creation Reveals Truth about the Spiritual Realm Romans 1:19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. [20] For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. God can be known through His Creation – His General Revelation

Light Is Special Revelation Through God’s Word Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. [106] I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. [107] I am severely afflicted; give me life, O LORD, according to your word! Life is Found in the Word and Laws of God. Just as the Laws of Physics of Light bring life, so the Laws of God bring Life. They teach Righteousness

Light Is Special Revelation Through God’s Word Psalm 119:129 Your testimonies are wonderful therefore my soul keeps them. [130] The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. [131] I open my mouth and pant because I long for your commandments.

The Natural and Spiritual will be Reunited Isaiah 60:19 The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. [20] Your sun shall no more go down, nor your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning shall be ended. [21] Your people shall all be righteous…………

The Natural and Spiritual will be Reunited Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. [23] And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. [24] By its light will the nations walk, … [27] But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

God’s Light in Elemental Form – A Covenant

To have a relationship with God man must exalt God,

must honor the created image of God, and must rely on the provisions of God.

Exodus 20:1-17

Page 13: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

The Covenant: Ex. 20:2-11

We Must Exalt God

• “I Am the LORD your God… You shall have no other gods before me.”

• “You shall not make for yourself and idol. You shall not bow down to them or worship them…”

• “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His name.”

• “Remember the Sabbath Day by keeping it holy.”

Page 14: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

The Covenant: Ex. 20:12-15

We Must Honor His Created Image

• “Honor your father and mother…” • “You shall not murder.” • “You shall not commit adultery.”

1 John 4:20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Page 15: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

The Covenant: Ex. 20:16-17

We Must Rely on His Provisions

• “You shall not steal.” • “You shall not give false testimony against your

neighbor.” • “You shall not covet… anything that belongs to

your brother.”

Page 16: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

The Problem Romans 3:23 …for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…

James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. [11] For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

Page 17: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

All have Entered Darkness = Death

1 John 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth

1 John 2:9 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. [10] Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. [11] But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Page 18: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

But God Gave us More 2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Page 19: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Page 20: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Page 21: Light of the Message - Advent Week 2

John 12:34 Who is this Son of Man?” [35] So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. [36] While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.”

Acts 26:15 ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. [16] But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, [17] delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you [18] to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Colossians 1:11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, [12] giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. [13] He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, [14] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
