When we consider the possibility of moving in with someone, we are very selective and try to choose someone who shares our values, who we can imagine spending the rest of our lives with and be ourselves. Why should it be different with our furniture? With strong emphasis on the timeless design, sustainability and outstanding quality, MINT Furniture believes it shouldn’t.
MINT furniture was founded in 2009 by two designers - Janis Rauza and Ieva Andzane, of North European origin, where historically the design core values are functionality and natural aesthetics. The process of creating custom-designed bespoke items gradually had to become more industrial at the same time maintaining the uniqueness and adding a personal touch to every piece made at MINT furniture factory.
The furniture collection was inspired by the world's best design examples, modern and Brutalist architecture, as well as by MINT designers’ personal views on contemporary living. MINT Furniture is attractive due to its high functionality, outstanding quality, laconic shapes and incredibly light lines. This is the furniture, which never goes out of the style.
MINT back-office provides bespoke interior design solutions, convenient delivery services, simple assembly instructions and professional advice. We will happily complement the collection with stylish details to secure functionality of the space in compliance with the customer preferences.

Lightness and harmony enter the room with MINT chairs. Ease of the 1970s French design and purity of the Northern European design meet in the shape of MINT chairs. Being in the room they dictate the mood and inspire changes. MINT chair designs show the designer’s ability to combine the natural look and to use the assimilation of multicultural environment. In MINT furniture design there is a sense of a strong tradition that intrinsically transforms to such emotional qualities as calmness, tranquility and self-sufficiency.

Chair Air is the design symbol of the MINT collection. The texture of the chair fabric and the synergy of its natural colors with the light, the carefully curved backrest give the impression of sophistication combined with lightness and naturalness.

Stool Screw bench is the basis of the MINT collection design. It is marked by slanted MINT lines, quality of natural solid wood and modularity of the height adjustment. Screw stool as a design object would refine any interior, while its functionality can be useful in any room, in the kitchen or by the bar counter.

The “EMMA” chair is a comfortable armchair with chamfered accents in traditional MINT style. EMMA chair was inspired by the designer’s childhood memories of his grandmother, who raised four children alone after her husband was deported during World War II, and it shows strength, independence and character.

The “GHOST-W” chair is the contemporary MINT version of the 18th century “Love Seat” for two. People sit facing opposite directions and they can choose to initiate contact or stay distant. It is an ideal seating accessory for public areas like art galleries and shoe stores.

The GHOST high stool is a perfect example of simple and minimalistic design. This enchanting bar stool is a version of the original MINT classic “Ghost” chair with lower back support and a wide seat for even more comfort.

Armands Meirans is an Art Director, also working with design projects of various sectors and types, including industrial design. In the company MINT he acts as a furniture designer and consultant. He is focused on product simplification and improvement of functionality, following the industry trends and creating the products according to final user needs. “My vision of the excellent product is the balance between its function and aesthetics, sustainable and responsible attitude to the nature and materials, artisans’ attitude and their hand work.”
DESIGNERS
Janis Straupe – artist, sculptor & designer. He is known internationally for his large scale functional sculptures that reflect syntheses of unique artistic vision and technical perfection. Janis Straupe thinks that his greatest satisfaction comes from challenging the other craftsman and gravity by using geometry and deep understanding of the material.
ARMANDS MEIRANSJANIS STRAUPE
Ieva Andzane is an industry professional with a degree in arts, an interior designer with a great passion for furniture design, who also participates in the creative process of the product design. She works as an industry trend analyst and designer assistant for the company. Ieva believes that good design is based on the excellent knowledge of technology combined with the impeccable taste and understanding of the material application.
Janis Rauza is the leading designer of MINT Light Living furniture collection, he inherited his family woodworking skills and transformed them into a new, innovative furniture design. This is also reflected in the furniture samples that he creates for MINT collection. Iconic screw stool became the keystone of the collection by revival of the traditional and giving it the functionality of our age. In process of time presumably the lightest chairs in Europe were created, given that the successful synergy of their shape and material gives the impression of something light and intangible, while at the same time convenient and comfortable as a seat.
It has always been essential for the designer to be involved in the production process, from receiving the timber until the delivery. MINT Light Living — Janis himself believes that it is possible to take life easily without over-complicating things.

The primary material of MINT collection is wood; in some furniture units it is complemented by selected textiles produced by Kvadrat and laminate produced by Abet. MINT offers various color tone combinations making it even more fun for those who love to customize their furniture to fit the existing interior.

AMERICAN OAKART. CODE: OZWe use oak in Danish oiled finish followed by wax. It gives for the furniture the classic timeless design look. Danish oil finish deepens the natural color of the timber and protects the wood from damage caused by water spills. Always use a damp cloth or a sponge with clean water wiping down the entire furniture surface in one go.
AMERICAN BLACK WALNUTART. CODE: RKWe use Danish oiled American black walnut followed by wax. Walnut has the deep brown, futuristic retro look that makes the contemporary interior enchanting. Do not use spirits, bleaches or any other chemical cleaners to clean the timber, just a damp cloth or a duster.
TIMBER
EUROPEAN BLACK STAINED ASHART. CODE: BLWe use a black stain, which is applied evenly to the ash timber followed by a matte lacquer. This gives the ash a deep luxurious black matte finish. The lacquer is impermeable to the water, however, any spillages must be immediately wiped clean. Avoid contact with hot objects by using table mats. Keep out of constant direct sunlight.
EUROPEAN ASHART. CODE: OSWe use traditional white oil finish evenly applied to the timber that lightens and creates a beautiful, light ashy shade for each piece of furniture. Tailored to those who love modern Nordic look in the interior.
